Miss Murray's Journal Entry for October 20

Oct 20, 2006 08:00

Never have I wished harm and suffering come to any creature, regardless what pain has brought upon me in the past. Even him, the pitiful soul. However, yesterday morning, I was very close to make an exception (in a moment of typical female irritation) after being awaken by that dreadful, extremely loud noise (I refuse to call that music). I hope I shall be long dead when those ghastly melodies are composed and brought to torture the ears of the world.

Hmph. Just when I finally allowed myself to rest without fear.

The first of my former menagerie has arrived. Edward is as robust and…obedient as usual. I-I fear that his uncontrolled nature will be punished severely. I pray God I shall be able look after him.

Oh, have I told you that Serpentine Park has been renamed Hyde Park in your honour? If my memory serves me well, I should have in my possession a newspaper article with a picture of your commemorative statue. If the pomp and ceremony description interests you, keep it as a present, Edward.

Such a lovely day outside, it promises a fine weather. Perhaps if Doctor Jekyll awakes he will accompany me in a stroll to the English Rose Garden. I have my doubts Edward would be thrilled at the suggestion of an afternoon spent around roses, couples and children.

- Wilhelmina Murray.
