MOTHER-PUS-BUCKET!!!
I had a whole thing written out and lost it. Crap...so, let me try some of it again.
So, let me start by wishing all of the moms-"seasoned" moms, new moms, pet moms, on-the-job moms, and all of the moms I may have missed, a slightly belated and very Happy Mother's Day!!! I hope that your day was as wonderful as you are! :)
I spread my mom's Mother's Day over the past two weeks, so by the time Mother's Day came around, there wasn't much left that she wanted. On Saturday, we went shopping, and mom mentioned once again that she was thinking about getting her nails done. So, as an early Mother's Day gift, I took her to get her nails done. Here's the kicker-on a whim, I got mine done, too. I have never, EVER had my nails done before. Yikes! What an experience. The woman who did them asked me while she was cutting my nails, "Why your nails so pointy?" 'Cuz it feels goooooooooood when you scratch an itch with 'em!!!!! Well, that's no more. I have those god-awful flat tips that are not only no good for scratching, but I can't pick a damned thing up with them either. I dropped my entry pass outside of work and it took about 4 or 5 tries to pick it up. While she was puttng the nails on, she used some sort of primer stuff. Let me just say that this crap found every cut, scratch, scrape and wound I've had since I was 6. I almost jumped out of my seat when she put that stuff on!!!!!! I dunno...I guess I'm still trying to get used to them. It's so odd, though. I feel like I have hardware on the tips pf my fingers.
Sunday morning, I woke up with an incredible pain behind my left ear. I didn't know what the hell was going on. I just knew that I had a lump behind my ear and it hurt like hell. It felt like I was knocked upside the head, but unless the S-Tig-Mata is beating me in my sleep, that's not it. It was okay until late last night, then it just got worse. I put ice on it when I went to bed and again while I was at work, but I think my equilibrium was off because I kept walking into chairs...at least that's the reason I'm using. It's a nice break from saying I'm a clutz. Anyhoo, I got to see the dr today and it turns out it's a sinus infection. I've never had one like this before. I haven't even had sinus problems lately....but, now I have a 10 day supply of that lovely horsepill Augmentin and an equal supply of 800 mg Ibuprofen.
On a little sad note, my blue Beta fish, Monty, died last week. I haven't bought a new one yet...I still have his aquarium lit and the filter going. Maybe I'll get one this week....I want to get another blue one and name him Monty II. :)
Okay. My laundry is calling my name. No, really. It's been so long that not only is my laundry walking to the washer, it's yelling extreme profanities at me along the way. The socks are the worst. I don't know where they learned these things.
