I am so dreadfully sorry...

Nov 15, 2007 05:30

I've noticed that sometimes people make excuses when they post something at a community - usually along the lines of 'sorry to be spamming the comm' or 'you must all be tired of me by now' - and I really wish they wouldn't.

I mean, what's wrong with contributing to the greater good fandom by sharing your work? It's not like anyone is forced to read it if they don't want to, and it's not like it scares away other posters (I think an active community is more likely to get posts than a dead one). Perhaps it's a result of the too common attitude that girls should not be putting themselves forward (it seems to be mostly girls who do this, but then again, fandom is said to be dominated by females), which I think is sad.

So yeah. That's why I won't apologise for spamming your friends lists with drabbles, at least not when it's on my own LJ! ;-)

Besides, this is the last one, at least until someone else makes a request. The original meme 'required' me to do fifteen, and so far I've written seven, which means that there's eight left. So if anyone wants me to write them something, just leave a request here.

It is actually quite selfish of me to propose this, because I get a lot of fun out of using people's prompts! (Although I hope I'm not the only one who gets some fun out of it...)

What follows is an AD/ED for gokuma, whose prompt was 'undertones'. I'm pretty sure this is not what she had in mind, but it was what my brain came up with, for some reason. Hope it's okay.

EDIT: Ooops, I forgot to post a disclaimer... These characters were created by J.K. Rowling.

'Do you realise,' Elphias muttered, 'that you have never told me how you got your scar?'

'Which one?'

'"Which one" - the London Underground one, of course!'

Albus chuckled in the darkness. 'I didn't know you were interested.'

'It's on your thigh, my dear,' said Elphias, wrapping his arms about him. 'A part of your body that holds a certain natural interest to me.'

'And yet you have never mentioned it before.'

'Well, its proximity to even more interesting parts of your anatomy tends to be somewhat distracting...'

'Oh, but if your attention is so easily led astray...'

They kissed, slowly.

'Not tonight, though.' Elphias placed his hand over the scar. 'I fear that not much will happen until you tell me.'

'Very well,' Albus said, lying back on the pillows. 'It's nothing special, really - just a result of what can happen when one forgets to pay attention to that which lures under the surface...'

Elphias pulled the blankets over them, amused.
