My friend Sherlock Holmes is not a romantic man, or so the world believes. Nevertheless, he does possess a fine appreciation of poetry, especially the classics, and occasionally, when his mood is right, he will even read his favourites aloud to me after hours, when the wind is howling outside our quarters and we relax in each other's company indoors

Yeah, I believe Holmes has a hidden romantic side. ;-)

I just couldn't help but think about the scene in The Empty House where Holmes turns up at Watson's office in disguise and offers him to buy a book of Catullus's poems... Coincidental? I think not!
