yay for babies!

Tonight my mom and I threw a baby shower for my friend Meghan. It was really nice. It was actually held in the nursing home where Meghan's grandma lives so that she could be there, which despite the extreme warmness of the room, was not too bad. We played some baby shower games - guess the nursery rhyme, present bingo and a memory game. Meghan's aunt and cousin were in charge of the games, and so they put a little twist on the memory game. They had Meg walk around with a tray full of baby items from table to table, and then she went out of the room and instead of trying to remember what was on the tray, they asked questions about what Meghan was wearing (clothes, shoes, jewelry, hair, perfume, etc). The Meghan opened up her gifts and I was her "secretary" writing down what each person got her. It was a a fun time, and I got to see Meghan and her sister Kayla, which was nice. And Meghan got engaged on Christmas, so she was showing off her beautiful ring.

Ok, one minor rant. I really don't like Big Lots right now. You would think that since I'm only home for three weeks, they would give me enough hours to make it worth me working for the three weeks I'm home. But no, they seem perfectly content giving me only 2 days a week to work. At least I get holiday pay for working Christmas Eve and New Years Day. Ok, end rant.

Back to a happier note, my brother left this morning. Dont get me wrong, I love my brother. Don't particularly like him all the time, but I do love him... but I have spent over a week with the boy, and its kinda nice to have him gone once again. He tends to easily get on my nerves...still. Just like when we were younger. I still don't know whats going on with him and his girlfriend. But I think they may have finally broken up. Considering the fact that over Thanksgiving and Christmas he has stayed at our house, and he only saw her once, maybe twice in the past week, talks about her even less than he did before...it just isn't official knowledge to the family. I think I may email him and ask him, since I really want to know and didn't ask him while he was here.

I got to spend the day with Rhea, my very best friend in the whole wide world yesterday. We met at the mall, shopped and talked for hours, came back to my house and watched Princess Diaries 2 (which Adam gave me for Christmas). We exchanged Christmas gifts and she got me a stuffed moose, and a sign (which is going on my door, whether Natalie wants it to or not) that says "Beware of Attack Moose" I laughed for about 5 minutes when I saw the sign. It was a wonderful day!

So I suppose I'll end with my favorite quote from Princess Diaries 2

Mia: I look like a moose!
Paulo: But a very cute moose. Make all the boy moose go "Whaah!"
