i am in dire need of rest! last night i ended up at la cave for jazz night, when i arrived, i was rather intimidated by the line which wrapped around the building, i started to feel that turning sensation in my stomach. icky! when i finally made it inside the atmosphere wasn't all that much better, drunk men groping, attempting to make conversation, while their sour breath is the only thing to really catch my attention. being a girl who travels solo 90% of the time, you'd think i'd be used to this by now, however i can't help feeling appalled not to mention violated.
after about an hour, the crowd seemed to transform into a much younger selection of boys and girls with impeccable style, i can dig that! chris showed up, he had girl with him, a different one from the girl at detroit, he and the girl sat with me in a dark corner/booth seat, her name was nicolette. the conversation was dull, small talk about movies and such, not seemingly interested, nicolette declared she was going home, chris kissed her cheek, she smiled, i waved.
nicolettes absence left an empty seat in which several people would fill to briefly talk with chris, one boy stood out however, and although i don't recall his name, i was in awe of him. he talked of his band and how they mostly performed with sequences and vocoders, deffinately MY style. he invited me to a picnic with his friends in corona del mar on friday! i hope i can make it.
