HEY EVERYONE! This past weekend mom and I went to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg without everyone else for a change. Kara was gone to the lake with a friend and Jon was helping Jay move into his townhouse in Winchester, so we just went down there Saturday to do a little shopping and came back on Sunday. The shops really don't have their fall fashions out yet, which means they're trying to get rid of their summer stuff to make room, so this meant MAJOR SALES!! lol
This week has been very uneventful... as usual. I'm really looking forward for classes to start back and everyone to get back into town to give me something to do. I really miss my PBL gang and Aysegul (my friend from Turkey) like crazy!! We've written, sent cards to one another, and talked online, but I cannot wait for her to get back in town!! PLUS... football season is also approaching!!! YAY!!! I love fall semester!! =)
This semester is going to be very hectic to say the least. I'm taking 18 credits, working in the business lab, vice president of Phi Beta Lambda, and I'll be a Napoleon Hill scholar after this semester, plus throw Jon and my wonderful friends into the mix, it's going to be crazy, yet very very fun!!!
I've had to wear my horrible glasses this whole week, which I've NEVER DONE!! I've worn contacts since I was in the 7th grade and I have 20/350 vision, and I've finally decided and mom's actually agreed to let me have the lasik eye surgery done on my eyes!! I'm planning on having it done this Saturday in Johnson City.
-So, some of the requirements for this surgery is no contacts 1 week prior to surgery, no eye make-up a week after surgery, no looking at a TV or computer for 48 hours afterwards, and I can't touch or get any sort of moisture in my eyes for a week. Which means very, very careful baths and pray to God that I don't have the need to cry or rub my eyes for some reason! LOL
I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't a tad bit nervous, but when I think about not having to worry about contacts, solution, new prescriptions, eye worsening, and especially glasses ever again, the benefits outweigh the risks 10:1. Everyone I talk to that's had it done loves their results. It's awesome to think that when school starts back I'll have perfect 20/20 vision without any aid!! VERY EXCITING!! =))
Well everyone take care and enjoy the rest of the week!
Leave me some comments,
-Mal =)
