**Thanksgiving Break!!

Nov 20, 2004 11:55

Yeah.. it's been a while.. haha
But things are finally starting to slow down now..well for a little while anyway. =)

I have 2 more classes and then Thanksgiving break is finally here. I have class on Monday and then an Accounting exam on Tuesday, the rest of my classes are either canceled are not worth going to on Tuesday, so that's something to be THANKFUL about. haha

For the first time in YEARS, I'm really excited about ALL holidays that are quickly approaching. I'm not really sure why... maybe it's purely the fact that this will be the first year that it's really hit me just how different things can change from year to year and it's taught me to treasure the time we have with certain people we love. It just seems like everyday there are more and more people being diagnosed with some form of cancer or having an unexpected heartattack. And I of all people know that my family is NOT immune to this, if anything, we've been hit harder than most. I have only one parent and one grandparent left living, and we know how quickly that can change in a blink of an eye. --Then there's Jon's family who has had to deal this last year with the news that his mom has bone cancer, and even though she seems to be doing well.. It's still cancer and the thought of the unknown. Just be happy for those that you have with you this holiday season. =)

But anyway on a little brighter note:
After dinner on Thursday... Mom, Kara and I are driving down to Pigeon Forge and meeting up with Gary, Janice and Hannah to spend the night and be up and at the malls when they open at 6 am. This is the best!! Just the rush of all the people fighting, yelling and acting insane, it's just fun to sit on a bench and watch people. haha I mean really, this kind of adrenaline and chaos that fills the stores are like that of a bunch of drunk frat boys after homecoming. haha
Then after all that, on Saturday, Jon's driving down and we're going to chill out a little bit and use our DollyWood season passes and go watch the shows and lights there. That should be nice. We always go down to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and look at the lights once a year, but I've never been to DollyWood during Christmas time. I hear it's beautiful. =)

OK..I'm stopping now, but if I don't update anymore this week.. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. And for those of you traveling.. be careful!! I-81 is not a nice place.. Em, you especially!! haha
