Cool workshop tomorrow!

Tomorrow I get to spend all day learning a new technique! It is Machine Knitting To Dye For. It is a small group (just four students!) and it will be taught by Nancy Roberts herself! She lives just a couple of miles from me! I am sooooo excited! Thank you to my friend Janine for letting me know about it.

The basic idea is to use a knitting machine to knit up yarn just so you can paint it. You then unravel the yarn and use it any way you want. I don't know much more about it except that I get to have fun, wear grubby clothes, and hang out with four awesome women: Janine, Rachael, Nancy (we have taken many classes together at Deep Color and she has the cutest little girl), and our teacher of course. Janine and Rachael have greats blogs - check 'em out.

More tomorrow after the workshop.

Meanwhile, I have a fiber_friday entry this week. Sheesh it has been a while!

I present to you Golden Slippers. It is merino silk bend (70/30 I think) and unbelievably gorgeous! I am so smitten. I spun it fine, I am guessing between sport and fingering and 430 yards or so. It is destined to be socks, very yummy socks.
