It's Sew Easy...

Riding on a high of "you can do it" spirit (generously provided by Melissa St.A.) I decided to forge ahead and sew up my second attempt at the learning sweater. So how does it look? Well..It is definitely recognizable as a sweater. And my mother said that if I decided that I didn't want to wear it she'd take it. (So it can't be all that bad.)

But to be honest, I'm not all that thrilled with it. Even though exah individual piece looked great, the look less great assembled. Maybe it's my lack of sweater sewing skills. (Try saying *that* five times fast.) Or perhaps it's just the general design of the garment -- maybe it looks great, but just looks like crap on me...Right now it's blocking in the tub, so until it dries, the jury is still technically out on this project.

I guess I still ought to be proud of myself. I actually began and completed a sweater that I knit myself. Not everyone can say that. As time goes on, I'll get better and better at this. (I think it's just a matter of improving my sewing, and finding a more flattering pattern.) And if I don't, I'll find a knitting shop that offers finishing services. ;-)
