We were reading tonight about big horn sheep in one of the kid's nature zines. After reading the page about the day-long head butting sessions among the males to decide who is boss, Vivienne said, "If I was a big horn sheep, I would want to be a female." So I asked if she thought all that head butting would hurt. She says, "I don't know, but instead of fighting to be the boss of someone else, all the girls just get to be the boss of themselves without fighting."

I loved that this was her implied take on the social hierarchy of the sheep.
