I disappeared again, got busy with a garage sale, I need to raise money to get my bunnies fixed ._. and then we had a huge storm, they're not sure if it was an actual tornado, yet. Most are saying it was a mixture of straight line winds and some rotation. A couple of these storms passed through town and tore it up. It was really weird, my family were all sitting down to dinner watching Lord of the Rings with the windows and doors open, thinking it was just a rain storm, nothing special. Me and my dad are pretty indifferent to bad weather, so we just ate and didn't think anything of it. Apparently we had a tornado warning, but we couldn't hear the sirens over the storm itself, it sounded like a train or something. As soon as the storm stopped we noticed people stopping on our street so we walked out and saw all the trees in the roads. me and my brother started pulling them out of the way, working our way down the road and a few neighbors came out to help. There were trees in yards, on houses, downed wires. Mostly communication wires were down, but one tree had primaries trapped under its branches and was catching on fire- not that well, since it was still wet, mostly a lot of smoke. Anyway, we walked around town right after the storm checking on friends and surveying the damage. News vans weren't really around yet since most of the roads were completely blocked. My old elementary school down the road was covered in broken trees, most every place in town that had a fence now has twisted metal instead. I found a video online from one of the news stations that shows some of the stuff on my street. My house is fine, by the way, the storm stopped three houses before mine, all we had were downed branches. I even checked on a robin's nest that was in the back yard and it's still there, surprisingly. The trees in our yard all looked like they were going to go down, but thankfully that wasn't the case. No one was seriously hurt in the entire storm area, and looking around town at everything that's fucked up, that's really surprising. I'm glad. But yeah, our main roads are all still blacked out, no power to most all of the stores over here except an Arby's and a grocery store, last I knew. I think there are still around 30,000 people without power in my county, last night there were over 100,000 without. I just got my cable and internet back so I could check the news. But yeah, that's my update. Here's the video I was talking about. Just wanted to post all this here since I can't really get a hold of any of my friends to talk about it.
