Codependent Characteristics

Everything I'm putting here is from the book, Codependency No More by Melody Beattie. ( And since it takes up quite a bit of space, I'm putting it behind a cut. )

I used to fall into a lot of that, but not anymore. Took some work but I got out of it. I am greatful for that.

lol. You mean by making huge mistakes and being with all the wrong people? :) It sure gave me some heartache till I was able to get out of it.

Your strong and you want change. You can do it!

Read the book Codependent No More by Melody Beattie--I picked up a used copy at Bookman's for $8. It's wonderful and will help you see why you do what you do; the companion book, Beyond Codependency is for people in "recovery"--that's what they call the process of trying to change codependent behavior and reactions. I can't even begin to tell you how much relief I have felt reading this stuff, but not everyone feels relief--some people feel anger and resentment, others feel sad. The point is to start dealing with your own feelings, start figuring out what your wants and needs are and getting them met so you can be happy. It's been a huge eye-opener for me. I wish you the best of luck, and if you ever want to talk, you know where to find me. ;)
