I don't smoke pot. I am annoyed by stoners, but I have studied the history of marijuana use in chemistry and it is a useful and beneficial drug (far more useful than a lot of expensive pharmaceuticals with horrible side effects).

If you hate stoners, then what the hell are you doing with that jerk of boyfriend? Beyond being a total horse's ass who is taking up lots of your precious time, he's what so many of us hate about stoners.
I know you can see good things in everyone, but sometimes, you have to look beyond that to what your friends see. You being taken advantage of by someone you are WWWWAAAAYYYYYYY too good for.

That was kind of random, I didn't think you'd met Dave or if you only for a little bit. Maybe you have him confused with someone else. I'm living at his house rent free, he and his whole family are really loving and supportive of me which is something I've never really had before. He's loving, really good to my children, and he already graduated with his bachelors but he's waiting to move until I graduate. He's had job offers but he turned them down for me, which I think is pretty loving. He's running his own business which is growing faster than he can hire extra people. As far as I can tell, my friends like him, my family likes him, my mom even kinda likes him and she doesn't ever like anyone who's nice to me.
He has his moments of jerkness - so does everyone. After 3+ years if everything was still rosy perfect I'd have to be worried I was delusional. I love him lots, I trust him, he loves me lots, he's supportive of my schooling and my hobbies. I'd have to say I think I'll keep this one.

I guess if you want to hold onto a bad first impression and the let time blow it way out of proportion I guess that's your perogative. I appreciate your concern but it isn't warranted. Letting me live here is helpful to me, it makes my bills at home affordable. Not living there means no electricity and no heat. Here I am right by the college and I have internet and can do homework. I have food, I have a nice boyfriend who cleans up my mess when I don't have time, makes food, and does my laundry. His worst habit right now is staying out too late on Fridays playing magic and I am happy with that

p.s. Will's biggest complaint/concern was the walking around with beer thing which is one of my favorite things - and the beer was my idea. There's something I like about sitting on a bench at the marina with a 40 of something cheap on a warm summer night. I love our midnight walks and wouldn't trade them for anything in the world.
