I like this a lot. The AU setting fits the characters, your use of language is effortless.

He can’t resist the jab.

“He’s dead.”

The smile couldn’t have left his face faster if she had slapped it off.

My favourite lines along with the whole last part.

Thank you so much for writing and sharing!

this is so so so well done girl I'll certainly make a post about it tonight (I've sworn off tumblr for the day)
it would be perfect even as a standalone but now i can't wait for you to publish the second part! (Why not on AO3? I could bookmark it there sigh)
More words about the fic tonight, I've got to go veeery quickly now :/
But honestly you should write more (and you've made me care about these two again? wow???)

BABY GIRL, I LIKE LJ! And I don't have a ao3 account, I had a ff.net account for a long time but I haven't posted there in years.
I do want to write more but I've been very busy with my classes.

and you've made me care about these two again?
muwahahaha.
nah, I get it, ever since killian started having that commited relationship with linolium, i thought better to stay mostly away from that trainwreck (but this is an au, so i'm freeee)

Absolutely amazing!! I love the entire feeling of it, 'cause I'm quite a fan of "americana" setting. Even though I'm not a Hook/Aurora shipper, this is beautifully written. I just feel like listening to Lana del Rey while reading this. Your writing just flows.
