Food a plenty

Wow I cooked for nine people last night :-) It was about time that I showed some hospitality to the Wally Dug ex pub quiz team.

Starter: dips and nachos
Main: Chicken Basquaise with salad
Dessert: Chocolate bread and butter pudding with cream (made by Paul under my supervision).

Apart from an initial delay caused my slow chopping (and cut finger), the evening went really well. Afterwards we played Articulate which turned out to be a lot of fun. The flat is now ALMOST back to normal and the kitchen is still packed with food. This latter fact has a lot to do with the fact that I returned the hired wine glasses to Waitrose just as they were doing silly reductions.

BTW: Anyone got a good suggestion about removing a faint red wine stain from a thick rug? We used salt last night but there's still a slight mark. I was going to try Flash but is there anything better?
