To or not to.

Believe that is.

In my 10 years (yes, I am that old already) of online transactions, from Yahoo days, to MUA, to abercrombie, VS etc and now LJ shopping, I have never lost a single mail. Yup, not 1 single mail. Even the normal mails all the way from Canada and States always appear in my mailbox. Sure, there were episodes of panic attacks and worrying, but they still turned up.

Yet, I experienced my 2nd lost mail recently. Unfortunately, both parcels were from Bonitochico, Velda's collections and the first was registered. (The irony is that both of us are situated in the same country!) Anyway, I had to chase for my tracking number for a few days and imagine my shock when I could finally track it, only to find someone else had already collected it! It turned out that my unit number was written wrongly by sender/packer, so thank God I had opted for registered mailing, and hence my package got replaced. (To the person who impersonated me, you suck!) Since then, I usually opt to self-collect my items. Not that it was any easier, I sometimes had to wait for up to 45mins to get my items but at least I know that my items were not lost in transit due to negligence.

So then, recently I bought a top from her again and opted for normal mailing thinking it's only $18 buckaroos and that it should be pretty safe, afterall, all my items from others shops arrived safely via normal mailing. I've got a suay mouth la! My package has lost its way to my mailbox!! Yup, it is my fault to not register it, but c'mon, it's a $18 top! It's not quite worth the additional $2.24. And yeah, there's this voice inside my head saying 'what if the packer has written my address wrongly again?' 'what if they never did send out?' what if this and that? There's just too many what ifs and given my past experiences, you can't fault me for wondering. Too coincidental... or not?

Last but not least, I'm wondering if those popular cotters, who regularly review, do the LJ owners take great care in their package, ensuring that it never goes missing or they are just plain lucky? Is it because they are being heard and thus are of greater importance or are they the same as us, the non-reviewers?

PS: This entry was not written out of malice. It is just an entry of lingering questions in my mind, left unanswered. :) I can afford to lose that $18 top, afterall, I had picked up $44 the day before! LOL.

PPS: Mybagspa, the self-acclaimed branded bag cleaning guru, has ruined my miumiu bag and even tried to pass it off as my fault!  I'm super pissed with them! They had better make good their rectifications or WL (the owner, my old schoolmate!) owes me a new bag! >.<

Edited to add: I have rec'd the flutter sleeves top re-sent by Vel cos apparently it got returned to her due to wrong mailing address. Funny cos I had written my address correctly on my order email. But I'm not gonna question more, cos my mailing rate is now perfect at 100% again - both rec'd and outgoing mails. :D
