36 week midwife appointment news

First of all:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEK!!

Hope you had a great day!!

* * * * *

Midwife appointment went well. Found out that the trainee midwife thats been sitting in on a few appointments of mine is actually a second midwife for me. She will be there during labour/delivery along with my actual midwife. Very pleased I get 2 midwives :D

Everything is measuring and progressing as normal, both midwives gave me their mobile numbers today so I can call them when I go into labour. You know you are close to delivery when the midwives give you their numbers lol.

Also found out that the baby had moved. 2 weeks ago it was laying head down with its back against my right hand side, its legs and arms towards my left. The midwife told me at my last appointment that she wanted to "spin" the baby over so that its back was against my left, legs and arms against my right (optimum position for birth). She told me 2 weeks ago to overextend my torso, lay on my left and not to slouch - all these things would encourage the baby to move itself. I did all those things over the last 2 weeks.

Only to have the baby spin the WRONG way lol. I have the utmost joy in telling you (both lol) that now, the baby is totally posterior. Its spine is against my spine, legs and arms out the front. Its facing the front of me, too. This explains why over the last week I have had little else but back pain, and that weird pain you get down one side of your butt. If I keep up all my overextending and LHS sleeping, the baby may move again. heres hoping that it does because now the midwife cant spin it herself and for a head-down baby, this is the worst position it can be in for birth. Its also massively uncomfortable for me. Wendy, you know what my stomach looked like when I was at your place and you and Bek were watching everything contort? Because of this new position its in, that looks like NOTHING. When it moves now, I have full on teepees poking out of me, and my stomach is being moved into places that are just plain impossible. It would totally freak Bek out. Am working on getting video footage of it for youtube lol.

Oh and the head is starting to engage :D

Oh and a few posts ago I was saying how Luke is forever finding news ways to describe how far away the baby is? (Things like "Its next month" etc etc). He is still doing it. Last night I copped "In 10 days it will be June"

... honestly. The man is counting down in DAYS.
