I have to admit that my first (random) post about this was probably long-winded and a little angry. I have just been frustrated with things that I have witnessed in my last two years of being a member in the SCA. I look up to a lot of people that I have met in the SCA and it is always very disheartening and disappointing when they do things (or say things) that hurt myself or people that I know. I grew up in the SCA, and look to the *adults* to lead good examples. They should know better. That being said,I will not be removing my "rant", but I apologize for it's lack of sincerity, or if it offends anyone. xoxo A.
What do I love about the SCA?
-People are fantastically brilliant. They are so talented and crafty, and fun to be around. They have amazing sense of style and humor. They dress amazing. They dance and sing and act and sew and do everything to the best of their capabilities. They dress up funny in the park by a campfire and then hang out at a dive bar later in their tipits (Oh wait, that's just me!) They are great!
What do I hate about the SCA?
-The cattiness.
-The inability to expand themselves from middle school behavior.
-The sitting online 24 hours a day with some sort of response to every single utterance.
-The reprimading of someone for something that they wrote in their own livejournal.
-BUTTING IN without knowing what they are talking about.
-Whose friend ARE you? Are you really my friend? Can I really not trust that after 23 years? Do I really have to watch what I say to my "friends" who will turn around and surprise me time after time? If you love me, you love my family and friends. We are a package deal.
I thought for sure after spending my life in school that when I graduated, all of this would be over. It seemed to get worse. WHY??
