Roller Derby!
J and I were walking down Main Street and bumped into a roller skate shop. For about a year now, I have been wanting to see a real derby. The speed, the glory, the gals, the beers, the chips - who can say no?
I ran into the shop and asked this very muscular tattooed lady if she could tell me more. She did. I was sad.
The ice covers all the rinks starting late August - so the season runs from roughly March/April to August/September. They lack firm start and end dates because the men come in with their ice sticks and make ice go. Stupid boys, ruining all the fun.

Here's my good friend Sara. She lives in Finland and joined the roller derby there about a year ago. Kiss her feet. Adoring mom and kick-ass speed skater, all the while going to school to be an accountant. If only I could skate without taking out my front teeth.
