Maybe I should warn the forest service?
I've often said that one of things I like about living here is that we don't get many (any!) extreme natural events, like earthquakes, hurricanes and wild fires. And now two in one week...weird.
I'm far enough inland not to have damage to my home and worries about safety but we're actually going out to buy batteries, which is like major emergency prep for us. There's been a record rainfall this month so flooding is pretty much inevitable, however, I live in the highest part of the city (not that it's hilly here - you couldn't really tell if you didn't know) and I've never even had a damp basement so we're good. And I'm hoping and wishing all of you will be too! Stay safe and hang in there and keep in touch if you can. *hugs*
