I'm looking at my avatars and thinkin' I should update them at somepoint.
Now is not the time as I've staved my left thumb from crawling onstage at a music video shoot. The response of extras was slightly underwhelming and I'm slightly miffed that I travelled all the way through to Glasgow only to sit around for 4 1/2 hours and then be filmed as part of a group shot when all 6 of the other extras (yes the turnout was THAT good) got solo bits. Especially miffed that 3 girls, dancers apparently (riiiiiiight) in tired generic concepts of "Burlesque" clothing were centred on even though my outfit was clearly the most awesome.
A vintage coral prom dress with a black corset over the top, a gold belt, coral diamante crucifix, pink glitter cat mask and cerise lace gloves.
Awesome.
The theme was masquerade ball and I can't help but think of Labyrinth each and every time someone states that as a theme.
I had a good day and put as many beers on the directors tab as I could and upon arriving home I carried out a guerilla glass recycling mission.
Basically there are central bins for packaging and paper recycling downstairs but I'm in a posh neighbourhood so I imagine glass recycling would be a noisy affair they'd complain about.
Round the corner however they have little plastic boxes that they fill alternately fortnightly with glass/packaging as they are houses, and this street is tenements. I happened to notice it was glass night and thought: Fuck it. I made a couple of trips and as silently as I could, filled the plastic boxes already placed out on the street with as much glass from my house as I could manage in 2 trips.
I haven't bothered to take the glass to the recycling facility at the supermarket (short bus journey away) in about 5 months as paying soley to recylce is a bit gash, so I try to combine with food shopping too, so there was quite a pile and my flatmates can barely take the normal bin downstairs let alone show initiative to take the glass.
I feel strangely satisfied. The posh people will get a wee shock in the morning if they check before heading to work.
Someone has put their glass in my bin to RECYCLE. Trying to save the world.... damn them! Hee hahahaha!
I also purchased the greatest bag in the world at primark today.
It's a cerise metallic gym bag, with round ends and black handles.
It looks exactly like one that sindy from the 80's had.
I am SINDY! I am living the dream.
I also bought silver leggings in New Look. They're vaguely hideous, but I I know this and think they're fab and will look aces if I go for a cyborg Ziggy leotard glam metal look. I'm loving the neon and metallic thing that's happening in the shops right now. The other tired re-treads of florals, smocks, checks and giant cardigans is like 1994 but without the Doc Martens (now made in China) and visceral grunge distemper to balance it out and instead it's a sea of polyester banality that hurts my eyes.
I'm just about finished moving junk to the studio space and can commence sewing my own clothes and overhauling costumes very shortly.
The creative juices are flowing freely now all the Chi is freeing up after being trapped behind my toys for so long!
