Yuo, and I still do. The Wise One is a source of endless counsel and, well, wisdom.
I've had several good teachers who really influenced me when I was growing up--from Mrs. Roth, my AP Lit teacher (whom I adored) to my favorite professor at Rollins, Dr. Roy Starling. My second grade teacher Mrs. Warren. My social studies teachers in sixth, seventh, and eighth grades--Mrs. Elliott and Mr. Rafferty. (They team-taught.) I was always interested in what my teachers thought about everything, even the teachers I didn't particularly like or respect. Adult World was always infinitely more interesting than Kid World--or so I thought at the time.
I look up to several writers as influential as well. Not quite mentor level, but I admire their work and, in some cases, work ethic.
And good friends. Really good friends. They influence me, both for the good or for the ill.
You?
