Lots of it. Heaps.
Tuesday wasn't a great day overall, with Mr. B getting some really crappy news at work. We're dealing, and I'm determined to make myself believe that it's supposed to lead up to something excellent. Either I believe it or cry...
Anyway, later that night, we noticed that our remaining guinea pig wasn't looking very good. It was late, but we decided to go ahead and wake Big J up so that he could sit with her. Snowball deteriorated pretty quickly, but refused to just go quietly, instead deciding to wait until he'd fallen asleep and Mr. B had put her back into the cage. By the morning she'd died, but hadn't moved, and looked just as comfortable as she had during the evening.
And I'm so glad we woke him up. It's been much less grief-having, and I think giving him the chance to say goodbye is why. She's in the backyard now, next to Tinkerbell, and the butterfly-weed that we planted is pretty much dead looking from the frost, but a friend assures me that if I prune it back after March 15, that it will plush up and bloom again to attract pretty butterflies for the piggies.
Something has to go right soon, right?
And another reminder, if anyone's in need of a personalised baby quilt, handmade and crib-sized, my auction at
help_haiti is
here, and sadly has no bids yet.
