I've been playing a computer game, World of Warcraft, every night after work and all weekend since early March. To an extent I feel addicted to the game, but also I truly value the excellent distraction it provides.
It's getting harder to hide in the game though. As I get to know the other players better and sort of join the "community" my in-game experience has shifted to be more real world focused. I spend a lot of in-game time chatting with people when I could be running around killing things or RPing.
For a while I was getting to hide at work, but now my co-workers ask me how I am all the time... so I can't hide there. My Ebay sideline business sometimes a good distraction, but I can't always get into it.
Before WOW I was hiding in movies, tv shows on DVD, console games, and single player computer games.
Maybe time to switch from avoid mode... and actually live in my own life.
