I'm wondering when exactly it is that you become "institutionalised". By that I mean when you start to define your boundaries by that of which you are a part. Today I was talking with Susan Daniel (head of school) and she was blurting enthusiastically about the glory of her freedom to make decisions. I openly questioned her "freedom" by asking

problem with skills lessons is that they're now only an hour long - barely long enough to warm up and cool down never mind actually do anythign that will teach you anything about your particular 6 week module in four weeks worth of lessons (4 hours then!)
everything's just being whittled further and further down, and you can hardly blame them when students don't seem to care.
big direct action H. i might not be running for w&c anymore, but i'll get as involved as i have been this year, and hopefully more so! can't wait!
