My mom as a 16 year old...

So, after sitting on our driveway for a little while (it was broken)... my mom got the car fixed today. Which really means her brother came over and put a new battery in it, but still.

She is... acting like a 16 year old who just got their licence - "Do you want to go here? How about here? Groceries? Shoes? Library?"

So I went shoe shopping today. For gym shoes.(That, literally, it seems like, I will only wear occasionally to the gym...) Unsuccessfully. Because I failed to remember that the people who know things work full time, not weekends, thus you should go shoe shopping at 10am Wednesday or some such. Because the staff around couldn't really find anything, and that wasn't so good... and they seemed to want to argue with me when I said I wanted a cross trainer. "No, really guys, I don't run. I use the ellipticals at the gym. Very occasionally. And play the even more occasional game of squash. The rest of the time, I'm dancing/doing gymnastics. Neither of which have shoes I could buy at Sport Check."

But, that's okay. Mom was happy because she got to drive.

I still... remain non-plussed by the whole idea of it. For whatever reason, driving does not particularly excite me. I mean, yes, useful... but.... mentally, it's much the same as taking the bus or walking, it's just better in the rain/cold weather.
