Week two of rehearsals went pretty well. Having four weeks of rehearsal is SUCH a luxury. I'm kind of sick of Wolfville though. Quite sick of it, actually. So I decided to come back to Halifax yesterday for the evening and the whole day today. Woo. Bonus? The busker fest is happening right now.
So I went down to the festival last night, and...I don't know. It was a different vibe. I saw some very funny performers, but overall it didn't have that same feeling of excitement that I've felt in the past few years. They also cut one stage which makes me assume there's a lack of money. Sad. I enjoyed what I saw though. Oh, but can someone tell me why buskers draws so many skankified people to the waterfront? It's really quite awful. In any case, today was rained out, and I'm going back to Wolfville in the morning, so that's all I get this year. It's okay though, because I don't think I could possibly have as much fun as I had this time last year anyway.
So, back to the grind tomorrow. I have to get up early to get a ride in, even though I'm not called until 2pm. I'm going to try not to rip my ankle to shreds this week as I practice climbing the ropes -I have to climb and play on a free-hanging rope in the show, which I can do, no problem (I knew those circus classes would come in handy), but they're regular old hemp ropes, so, not exactly delicate on the skin. I will not do it without having my foot covered again. Learned that lesson the hard way. We get to meet the kids playing the fairies tomorrow. Woo. Who wants to bet that they'll mostly be bigger than me? ;)
