This year's Year in Review won't be nearly as exciting as last year's, because frankly, other than a few random happenings here and there, it's been a year I'd just as soon forget.
January.
*Rang in the new year with Andrew and Shannon
*Started rehearsals and then started performances of How I Learned to Drive
"No Grandma, I think that's astronauts"...still cracks me up :)
*Turned 25. Spent birthday in rehearsal then went to the Shoe Shop with the cast
*Bought plane ticket to London and booked my trip to Europe
February.
*Wrapped How I Learned to Drive, went right into rehearsal for Mourning Dove
*Loved working with Robert and Hugh and Simon and Jen. Got sick partway through the run.
*Got my passport. Step two of getting out of Canada.
*Told by Nigel that I had to audition for The Dream.
March.
*Continued performances of Mourning Dove. Wrapped with a closing night gathering at the Shoe Shop.
*Soul Alone was nominated for a Merritt
*Went to the Merritts/Auditioned for ATF/Went to the Neptune season launch where I found out they were doing The Miracle Worker and got ridiculously excited
April.
*Had one really fun evening out with Cory, Annie and Keelin. Don't know why, but this one sticks out in my head.
*Dan came whizzing through town. Met at the Shoe. Wished he could have stayed in town longer.
*Started sewing up a storm, designing things and then making them. What I do with too much time on my hands...
*Got a call setting up my time for the Miracle Worker audition. Got incredibly excited.
*Started getting nervous about the Europe trip.
May.
*Did my first audition. Got a callback. Did the second audition. Walked out of there feeling on top of the world.
*Saw the final cut of The Motorcycle. Was slightly less than impressed.
*Despite slight depression about not getting the call from Neptune, started getting really happy about going away.
*Left for Europe. If you need details about that, look at the travelogue. Link's on the sidebar.<-
June.
*Continued doing Europe. Best thing I ever did.
*Came home, felt like I could conquer the world.
*Got a call from Nigel, offering me a part in the Dream at ATF. Gladly accepted.
*Got a few other calls for auditions for things. Didn't end up getting any of them.
*Wrote my travelogue. 12000 words later, it was done :)
July.
*Spent a bunch of time learning Dutch grammar. For fun.
*Started getting ready for Wolfville
*Moved up to W'ville at the end of the month. Roomed with Keelin. Worked out well.
August.
*Played with Cash Only on the waterfront on Natal Day. Our biggest crowd ever. We were awesome and the crowds loved us. Best show we ever played. Missed Andrew though.
*Took in some of the buskers fest
*Cast of the Dream was great. Rehearsals were going well. I was, despite not having a huge part, being used in interesting and fun ways in the show
*ATF was closed down. For the second summer in a row, something horrible relating to my acting work happened. Send me into a not-so-happy place.
*Found out for sure that I'd lost The Miracle Worker.
*Came home and didn't know what to do with myself.
September.
*Bo on the Go debuted. Kind of neat to see a little of my work on national television.
*Went to Amanda's wedding. It was lovely.
*Got a job. Serving at Smitty's. Felt defeted.
*My uncle died.
*This was not a good month.
October.
*Was doing nothing but working.
*Depressed.
*Signed up for NaNoWriMo
November.
*Started working on my novel for NaNoWriMo. It was very difficult. Perked me up though. Got the creative juices flowing again.
*Heard from Damian, my driver from Europe who I'd struck a friendship up with. A very pleasant surprise.
*Adrienne's wedding. I had no idea how much fun I would have in Sydney seeing her and Nat again. It was like no time had passed at all...except Ade was wearing the pretty white dress and all...
*Stuart visited. Didn't realize how much I'd missed him. We had a brilliant time together while he was here.
*Saw The Motorcycle on the big screen. Not as traumatizing as I thought it would be.
*Won NaNoWriMo! Ended at midnight on Nov. 30th with approx. 52500 words. Wow.
December.
*Work. Lots of it.
*Jess stayed with me for a few nights. We had mucho fun.
*A few singing gigs here and there with Mike.
*Karaoke with Mike and Ray. Fun times!
*A quiet Christmas
*How I Learned to Drive named one of the Most Memorable theatre shows of '07 in The Coast
*Bought myself a laptop.
So that's that. The highlight, of course, was Europe. Doing what I love and spending time with people I love made up the rest of the best parts of my year. So thank you to all of you who were a part of my '07. Overall, not my greatest year, but it had sure had moments of greatness.
