*SO LONG BUT SO WORTH READING*
Today was so much fun! You have absolutely no idea, how much silly fun I had. It felt so good to just be me, let lose, and be surrounded by beautifully wonderful people.
It started off that I picked up Lena, and we went to Wal*Mart to get my pictures printed from the memory card, from last night (I saw Providence at Wesley church, and they rocked as usual.) Actually, let me tell you about that real quick. I invited Erika to go, and she went and brought Nick and everyone, decent crowd showed up. Jon actually stood still so I could get a picture of his FACE while he was performing. That’s the fun thing about him, he plays around with you when he’s on stage. That’s what’s good about all of them performing, they acknowledge that they have a crowd and friends. Anyway, after a few girls blushed and giggled, including Lena, the show ended and we had to go home. I was sad though because then I missed them, and wanted to hang out. But I came home and showed off my pictures to people.
Back to today. So then Lena and I came home and hung around, talked about stupid stuff, and ate dinner here. My mom invited her to come eat here for dinner. After that we moved all the clothes that were on my bed from empty my closet 4 days ago (I’ve been sleeping on the couch) to my brothers old bed. Yes, that’s right, he moved out. Then, after Lena and I rediscovered my old Polly Pockets, we started to take shelves down. Right as I put the drill in, Jimmy calls the cell. I was like ‘Score,’ because I wanted to go out tonight, and Jimmy doesn’t call unless he is asking me to go somewhere with everyone. Which is fine because we usually see one another at there concerts or hanging out, so what would we have to talk about? Although, I have to say, I am a phone person. So I answer it and Jimmy was telling me about Café Java at our Youth Group and his friends band performing. Let me tell you, right now they go as the Florida Boys, and don’t really have anything out, or are an actual band, but they are really good. The guy who sings plays guitar really nicely, and his feel for the music comes right through from him to you. His voice is also very, very nice; the kind that can put you to sleep if needed or make you jump and jive in spirit. So, sitting there, Nicole calls me, is blabbing about something and then the guys stop playing. I called Nicole back and she was like “I am on my way.” Which was cool, because then she came in and we all sat together. Then Arleen and Laurel came before they went to see a movie. So, the show ended later after the Florida Boys played their own set of music, and Jimmy said he had to meet a friend and told us to come hang at Steak-N-Shake if we wanted to. So, after dropping Lena off, I did. Lena didn’t even want to go see the band at Café Java, but to bad because I really don’t like having to do everything SHE wants to do. I am thinking after the Slipknot Concert, she won’t bother with me.
So I come to Steak-N-Shake and sit down, parked it next to Jared and across from Nicole. We had an awesome time! Well, I did. I threw things are Jon (Water, Ice, napkins with salt in them), drank drinks that were filled with ketchup, hot peppers, salt ext (so gross btw but I held it down) and played footsy with Jon. Actually, he did it to me and blamed it on Nicole. But hey, who says anything when someone is playing footsy with you? I don’t know, it was just so much fun for me. Shaun almost puked drinking the mixed drink thing, I had a good time playing around with Jon, Jared was nice to talk to, and Nicole was fun. Anyway, we were leaving and Nicole pulled down a street I didn’t recognize. So I pulled in after her thinking she had a flat tire or something. That’s when…The Lock in began.
I walk into her sister-in-law’s church and all these girls and boys (about 10 or so) running around, and the cutest puppy ever. I see a hula-hoop and have to try it, even though I can’t do it to save my life. Eventually, Jon and Jimmy end up there. Are you guys seeing a pattern of Jimmy and Jon? I am…hmmm..lol. Anyway, they came and Nicole, Shaun, Jon, Jimmy and I, all ended up playing dodge ball basically. No one else was playing, but we were. I don’t even know how it got started that I was involved, all I remember was trying to defend Nicole from Jon. Then I got pegged in the eye later because Jimmy has really good aim. At one point Nicole and Jon ended up in a portable rack, against a wall, trying to get the balls away. I tripped over Jon and landed on the floor later. I was trying to save Nicole and got smacked in the butt with a bat by Jon, and later he did it with his sweatshirt. It was a lot of fun, and was good exercise. Big plus on laughing so hard through it.
After that calmed down, the girls were going to bake cookies blind folded. Nicole’s sister-in-law went around asking for 2 more people to play. It ended up that Jimmy volunteered and no one wanted to be his partner really, so I stepped up when his partner wasn’t, and tried to help. We made this huge mess, and bumped into each other a lot, but you know what? The batter tasted good. The batter itself looked like someone had serious diarhea, but it was fun. I learned I can’t give directions to a blind person when in a rush, and that Jimmy has more cooking skills then half the non-blind men have. I am silly like that and enjoy games like that; I feel a bond with people. The game resulted in Jimmy trying to put in a lot of brown sugar because ‘I like brown sugar!!’ And cookie dough balls that were really like, well he actually just ended up pouring it on the sheet in the end. Whatever though, I had a really good time.
Between messing around with Jon at Steak-N-Shake, having a team war of Dodge Ball, and Baking Cookies with a blind Jimmy, I was able to just let go. I love being in those situations and just having fun, being me, and not feeling I’m being judged or there is pressure of any sort. Life has been really good the past 2 weeks or so. I am falling more in love with the lord, falling out of habits, finding determination and strength, and all in him. I’ve laid it all down at his feet and smile knowing he picked it up and is doing what he wants with it. I haven’t been able to go to sleep with this happiness in my heart, and this smile on my face, in a long time.
Love Always,
Laura M (*A*)
