top albums of 2006.

i just read all of the ap.net lists and i feel left out.
so here you go.

1. The Matches - Decomposer
would i really put anyone else at the top of my list? mind-blowing from start to finish.

2. Punchline - 37 Everywhere
pop-punk classic from the nicest, most deserving guys in rock. fueled by ramen, you're idiots.

3. Boys Like Girls - Self-titled
this album has affected me way too much. pretty much everyone has heard the billions of stories at this point, either through me, through someone else or.. through tim, truthfully, in the case of the manage a trois. i've listened to it way too many times to count, and i will stick by my theory that it is pop genius.

4. Valencia - This Could Be A Possibility
this cd is something special. every song is a different emotion. i have so much of my life in this album.

5. The Format - Dog Problems
now, i have always been a quite large fan of the format, ever since i saw them on the perfect tour last year. but this record impressed me to the point that they became one of my favorites. absolutely phenomenal. people are going to be listening to this band 30 years from now.

6. Dropping Daylight - Brace Yourself
just.. so good. these guys are so incredibly talented. i really wonder why they're not more popular.

7. John Mayer - Continuum
this man has been my favorite for so long i don't even remember when i decided he was. another brilliant album. more jazzy, which i love. he's a legend.

8. Men, Women And Children - Self-titled
the only reason i'm putting this 8th is because for me, it came out in 2005. they are the best. period.

9. Forgive Durden - Wonderland
this cd is something different in a scene that tends to be very repetitive.

10. Cute Is What We Aim For - The Same Old Blood Rush With A New Touch
okay, you are allowed to hate me for this one. but the truth is, i've been listening to them for so long. and this album, as much as i can't stand the members of the band (besides jeff) or pretty much anything they do, is good. really good. and i listen to it a lot. and thats really all i have to say on the matter.

honorable mention:
rediscover - call me when you get this ep
shut up.
yes it was necessary.

i'm probably going to edit this about a gazillion times.
