this weekend, in 1000 words or less.

highlight: boy took me bookshopping to use a christmas gift certificate.  bought 3 new books, dying to start all of them, torn because i'm still reading something else (actually 2 something elses...) one of the books even seems like it will stretch my mind...can't wait.

sister, brandon, macayla, and hannah came to visit.  wonderful to see my nieces.  we took them bowling.  my sister and brandon are selfish and we never got to go sledding or ice skating.  we (the "grownups") saw ghost rider, and it was stupid, but some of the special effects were kinda cool.  not worth the money though, but we knew that ahead of time.  but my sister and brandon wanted to see it, so we went.  they ended up hating it more than we did.  ironic.  when they all said goodbye yesterday macayla cried and told my sister "i don't wanna say goodbye to my grandma mello" (which is what she calls my mama) and my heart broke into a thousand pieces for her because i remembered what it was like to be 5 years old, and live three and a half hours away from family, and to say goodbye at the end of a weekend visit that is never long enough, and to feel like you'll never see them again.  i can garuntee she cried until at least the highway.

mama's birthday was yesterday and she loved the ipod shuffle we got her.  it was totally worth the rush shipping costs to have it here on time.

boy and i need a new bed desperately and i'm kicking myself for not taking advantage of the presidents day sales that were going on, when we could have saved a lot of money.  money that we didn't really have last weekend, and do have this weekend, courtesy of the irs.  so we're gonna start bed shopping and see what we can find and what kind of deals we can discover.  wish us luck.

i'm on school vacation ALL WEEK LONG.  which means just working at the bank, and i'm not even gonna pick up extra hours, unless they specifically request it.  otherwise, no thank you.  especially since my cough is returning and i'm trying to get better and stay better and not get sick again ever...or at least this winter.

that was my weekend.

the end.
