Daphne looked up from her book with a blank stare.

"Yes," she said simply, nearly forgetting her entry altogether. "Can I help you?"

Daphne adjusted her bent legs to make room for him.

"Oh, well, thank you," she said in a nicer tone, shutting her book.

"So what brings you to my rescue?"

"It's possible," he replied with a smirk, arching a brown at her in amusement.

"So... what is my damsel in distress doing down here without any other male companions? I thought I would have to wait in line to meet you.

"I was in a realtionship," Aiden said. He really wanted to steer the conversation away from this topic.

"I'm not now. Pretty simple, yeah?"

Aiden offered Daphne another smile.

"What about you? In a relationship?"

"Gabriella Nott," Aiden said nonchalantly, as if it didn't bother him. How many months had he wasted with her? Yeah. Not cool.

He ignored her other comment for the moment. There really wasn't anything witty he could say to that...

"Exactly what I was thinking," he said with a nod, sticking his hands out in front of him in hopes of getting the fire to warm them a bit.

Who in the hell thought of sticking the common room under the lake for crying out loud?!

"We argued a lot. It was really frustrating."

"If you're cold," she began, noticing his hands, "we can share my blanket."

Aiden wasn't too sure about it at first, but after eyeing the blanket (and her) he decided it didn't matter. He was single. The blanket looked warm. She was hot.

"That sounds great," he said, scooting closer to her.
