Pucey? You're scum.
Not that I'm one to believe gossip, but you're still an arse nonetheless.

I'd very much like some company.
Especially from the male of the species.
You can find me by the fire of the common room.

"Are you Daphne?" Aiden asked, walking into the common room in search of the girl from the livejournal entry.

Daphne looked up from her book with a blank stare.

"Yes," she said simply, nearly forgetting her entry altogether. "Can I help you?"

"Male company," Aiden said simply, sitting down next to her on the couch without invitation.

Daphne adjusted her bent legs to make room for him.

"Oh, well, thank you," she said in a nicer tone, shutting her book.

"So what brings you to my rescue?"

"Just thought I'd be nice," Aiden said with a friendly smile, adjusting himself into a comfortable position.

Plus, you got dumped and needed company, too. You're such a baby.
Shut up. I don't need you right now.

Daphne stared at him for a moment with a small smirk.

"Well, you must be my very own knight in shining armor."

"It's possible," he replied with a smirk, arching a brown at her in amusement.

"So... what is my damsel in distress doing down here without any other male companions? I thought I would have to wait in line to meet you.

"You flatter me. Unfortunately, all of the quality boys are in happy relationships," she began.

"So, what's wrong with you?"

"I was in a realtionship," Aiden said. He really wanted to steer the conversation away from this topic.

"I'm not now. Pretty simple, yeah?"

Aiden offered Daphne another smile.

"What about you? In a relationship?"

"No." She mumbled, "though I wouldn't mind one."

"Who were you dating?"

"Gabriella Nott," Aiden said nonchalantly, as if it didn't bother him. How many months had he wasted with her? Yeah. Not cool.

He ignored her other comment for the moment. There really wasn't anything witty he could say to that...

"Oh," was all she could say. She really had no opinion of her.

"Well, fresh start, yeah?"

"Exactly what I was thinking," he said with a nod, sticking his hands out in front of him in hopes of getting the fire to warm them a bit.

Who in the hell thought of sticking the common room under the lake for crying out loud?!

"We argued a lot. It was really frustrating."

"I'll bet," she said with a small laugh.

"If you're cold," she began, noticing his hands, "we can share my blanket."

Aiden wasn't too sure about it at first, but after eyeing the blanket (and her) he decided it didn't matter. He was single. The blanket looked warm. She was hot.

"That sounds great," he said, scooting closer to her.

Daphne handed him some of her green fleece blanket.

"There. It's really very warm under here."
