A rushed little update to tide you over

We don't need to believe every word they say, no...

So believe it or not, I DID mean to update this. On July 7th, actually. I wrote an entry all out, but was hoping to get the photos from my show before I posted it. I'm pretty much never home though. So it never got done. But here's the entry from the Friday after I moved back to the US of A, just because it's too amusing not to post.

"As Ryan and I discussed last night on the ride home at 3 AM, yesterday, we lived. I got woken up to the sound of my new pink Razr vibrating at 8:41 AM. It was Marge & Fran from France, bullying me into checking my IB scores. And the verdict? I passed. Hoorayyy. A trip to the dentist was followed by my going to my second US residence. I swear, I spend more time at Kat's house than I do my own... We then picked up Ryan and hijacked Tim and went for ice cream. On the way to Evan's, we got into a little mix-up with a very angry female driver. Though I was unaware at the time, mind you. Ryan exhibited his Christ-like navigational skills while we were lost somewhere in the heartland, AKA like... Rehobeth or something. When I finally finished dropping everyone off, I had to deal with another angry woman - my mom. I was to be at the Seekonk police station before 4. Sweettt. So I went BACK to Seekonk and picked Ryan up again and we reported for our awesome interrogation. Basically, we told him everything that went down & the officer checked out my car. And we were in the clear. Silly woman, thinking water out the window damaged her car... So since I was already so close to Providence, I hung out at Ryan's for a bit before heading to the Living Room for load-in. The show was super strange for me. Weak turnout, but some incredibly cool bands. I love meeting new people. Afterwards, it was back to NA, we went - for some quality McDonalds and the special midnight release of Pirates of the Caribbean II. Pretty great. After one final trip to Seekonk for the day, I headed home and crashed into bed around 3:30. This is why I love summer so damn much. :-)"

Aww. So that's pretty much the epitome of my summer. It's been great. I'm out with the crew every night and just plain having fun. I really couldn't think of anything better. My Northeastern orientation was last Monday/Tuesday and I am so amped for school to start. Friday was the Jack's Mannequin/OAR concert at the Tweeter Center. It absolutely poured and we were soaked through, but there was something so magical about the song "Kill the Messenger" in the rain. I wouldn't have had it any other way. Actually, I would... Rather than missing Andrew McMahon by 4 feet (48 inches as Julie reiterated) we would've gotten down to the stage door like 10 seconds sooner. Aww, I'm sad just thinking about it.

JulieMc06: four feet
JulieMc06: 48 inches
JulieMc06: away from andrew mcmahon
JulieMc06: doesn't that just make you want to throw yourself off a bridge?

But any way. What else is going on? Lots of grad parties. Lots of trying to help touring bands with booking. Lots of Chris stopping by my house randomly to spend hours watching Next or just have ice cream with my family. I've finally gotten used to using my pretty new black MacBook. Then there was the trip to Providence and driving around with Julie and some sketchy boys. I've been to the gymnastics center a lot lately and have started dance classes again. We just got a gorgeous new TV, so I've been enjoying all that 99 American channels can offer as well. Warped Tour was yesterday and it was hotter than hell. Julie and I endured the heat long enough to see I am the Avalanche, Saves the Day, and Cartel before retreating to the AC in her boxed-in car.

All in all, my summer's been amazing. And I'm sure these last few weeks will be equally as much. Perhaps I'll be back to update in a more coherent fashion soon. Hope everyone's excellent. :-)

Rock,
Missy*
