Prince died yesterday. I'm sad about that -- I loved him. Saw him in concert in HS. Blech. I should listen to some of his music today. I just tossed my turntable, too -- it didn't work anymore, which is too bad, because I have Purple Rain on vinyl.
Tried to text/call MOB to tell her, since she doesn't see FB or the internet as much as I do. No response. No calls going through. I figured she hadn't paid the bill, but as it turns out, she got a new phone. I hope this means that her financial situation is turning around now that her bf is working.
I'm working remotely today -- I've actually only been in the office once this week. Took Wednesday off because I wasn't feeling great in the morning, but was fine later in the day. Worked in Lisle yesterday but sneezed all day. Home today, stuffed up and a bit coughy, to keep my germs to myself but also need to get some decluttering done at lunchtime.
Tomorrow is Ed's son William's first communion. I'm sure I'll cry. :P But we're bringing some things over to Sil's for the dinner (soda, wine, etc.), and Ed needs to wear a suit, so we've got some stuff to get done tonight. Then tomorrow morning, we're off to the great butcher shop in Elburn to buy stuff for the cookout Sunday. That's for Ed's mom's 80th birthday. So that means prep, cleaning, shopping, getting ready, etc. Fun weekend, but busy.
It's my mom's b'day tomorrow -- Phil and I took her out to dinner on Wednesday and then we all saw Joelle's musical. It was really fun, and the show was great -- The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Joelle plays Marcie Park. :) Tomorrow I'll bring my mother some flowers.
I got my cap and gown on Wednesday as well -- and got called "Dr. Sandler" by a stranger for the first time. :) That was weird in a good way. I got an extra tassel so I can give one to SAT (former coworker) -- he's helped me with this whole thing more than anyone else.
Speaking of former coworkers, more layoffs at Siemens. From what I can find out (meaning, according to Duane), 2 project leaders (Dave O., and Chris W.) and two writers (Russ and Lisa). Ugh. Nobody's happy there anymore, from what I can tell.
Ed has decided he wants to go to Yellowstone this summer and Maine this fall. Maine sounds wonderful -- I'd love to see more of the East Coast in general.
Okay, time to find food.
