Pre-Christmas update

Dec 18, 2006 14:13

Ugh.  I had a big update, and it got lost.  I hate LJ.

To sum up:

My finals are over, and I am fairly please with my grades.  My final grades are shaping up to be pretty good.  I've got a definite 396/400 in Development, and I have a 492/499 with only one grade out in Research.  I'm in the very, very slow process of arguing up my grade in career, so it'll either be an A- or an A.  Yay.

I went to get a Christmas tree this weekend with my family, and as usual, it was an ordeal. Mom's car started smoking (not the VW), and we waited two hours for AAA to come.  But after all that excitement ended, I decorated the tree, and help my grandma hang her wreaths.  Randy and I went out to dinner, and I helped him do some shopping (he helped me, too) and we had an overall successful trip to the mall.

I'm at work now, not for any particular reason other than I could use some more money.  I've been keeping myself busy by looking for things to do on my trip to Australia. It's not that challenging, since Australia's a pretty sweet place.  I depart on 12/27 for San Francisco, then will leave around 11pm on the 28th for Sydney.  Ill get to celebrate New Year's before all of you suckers, then on New Year's Day, we'll be climbing the Sydney Bridge.  From there we go on to Melbourne, then onto Cairns--aka, the Great Barrier Reef.  If you're feeling jealous, the flight times might improve your spirits:

PHL-SFO: 6h 30m
SFO-SYD:14h 32m
SYD-MEL: 1h 30m
MEL-CNS: 6h 45m
CNS-SYD: 3h
SYD-SFO: 13h 25m
SFO-PHL: 5h 15m
TOTAL: 50h 57m

Oh, dear lord. Any suggestions for what I should do? Other than try to make myself pass out for as long as possible?

I'm hoping to head home this Wednesday, after Mike and I exchange gifts.  He won't give me any hints, which makes me sad :-\  I got him some things I think he'll really like--and although I know he doesn't read LJs,  I won't chance posting his gifts just yet.

If I don't see/talk to you (and you're reading this) before I leave, have a great holiday and enjoy your break (either from work or school).  See you all in January!
