A/N: Baby!Blaine’s boy tie was Warbler/Dalton colors. Natalie (comesatyoufast.tumblr.com) put this idea in my head. It’s sort of- read: totally and completely- crackish and full of non-canon. Enjoy! Blame her. I don't own Glee.
Un-betaed (if anyone wants to help with this, totally hit me up) and written quickly. All errors are my own. I totally stole Blaine's middle name from Little Numbers by iknowitainteasy. Her credit, that fic's amazing and go love her.
This is totally not just a oneshot now, guys. This is a legit thing I'm planning on doing every Tuesday until I can't handle it.
Set after
KinderDalton and
How To Accessorize Friends and Alienate Jeff, which should be read first. : )
While Kurt normally stayed away from the helmet of gel Blaine had perfected when doing his own hair, Mike- well, mostly Tina- had grown fond of it. Which meant when Tina asked Kurt for tips, he sent Mike to the master himself.
Apparently it had worked. Mike sculpted a shell of hair that could’ve ricocheted bullets if need be. Blaine seemed sort of proud when he’d seen it.
The strange thing was, though, that Blaine never wore his hair pasted up on the weekends because he knew that Kurt wanted to play with it. The curls wrapped softly around his fingers and Blaine had never complained about the attention before.
Why didn't he want it all the time?
“Wes?” Kurt called, knowing Blaine was on his monthly FaceTime with his fellow-former Warbler and best friend. They sat in Blaine's room, an iPad between Blaine's knees and Kurt's head stuck in a Government book.
"Hey, Kurt. How are you treating out boy?" Kurt rolled his eyes at the device in Blaine's hands, knowing Wes couldn't see his expression.
His boyfriend looked up from the iPad to smile widely at him.
"He's doing beautifully. We may even let him go outside by himself by the Prom rolls around." Kurt heard Wes chuckle.
"Actually, Montgomery, I had a question. I won't expect you to remember everything, being a college boy now and all," Wes had been accepted to Northwestern when he had left Dalton last year, "but do you remember when Blaine started gel-ing his hair?" The boy in question turned deep, deep red, obviously embarrassed. Kurt thought it was a good sign.
"His mother started doing it, if I remember correctly. We went to Dalton for Kindergarten, you know? He said Jeff always had the best hair. Blaine hated his curls."
"Blaine Theodore Anderson, how dare you?" Kurt gasped dramatically. Blaine's lips twitched.
"He didn't like them because they never stayed still..." Wes continue his story. Blaine had complained one-too-many times to his mother about his hair style. Refusing to cut the adorable, Blaine I don't know why you don't like them they're darling curls, his mom ordered mousse and gel, hoping her hairspray supply would last. It did, but just barely.
The first time she had pulled the hair out of her son's face, he loved the freedom that it gave him.
"I liked being able to walk around and not have to worry about the Almost-'Fro hitting anyone after I stopped moving."
Jeff knocked on his head the first time he saw the helmet-like lacquered version of his friend's head. Nicky never had his hair like that, and Nicky was coolest one to the four of them.
Wes thought it made Blaine look like a robot, but never said anything more about it. Robots were scary.
Until Kurt was lucky enough to ask him.
"I'm glad you kicked him out of his...well, shell seems apt at this point." Wes' laugh reverberated off of the walls in Blaine's room. Blaine himself groaned, adding to the noise.
"What did Nick do?" Kurt asked, quietly, once the story of the time Cooper broke into his room and took his hair products away was finished.
"To Coop? I don't..." Kurt shook his head, having moved to sit next to Blaine and watch Wes tell the story.
"When this kid came into day-care with a "shell," as you put it, on his head?" Kurt elbowed Blaine lightly, earning a smile.
"Nick didn't really do anything after Jeff stopped trying to play with it. He made sure he didn't ever let his mom put anything in his hair, though. I think he-Nick, I mean-noticed Jeff didn't like it and immediately stopped."
Kurt and Blaine side-eyed each other fondly. They loved those stupid boys.
"Have him wash it out sometime, Kurt. His curls are adorable."
Kurt nodded, still staring at the curve of Blaine's lips as he grinned. Wes ended the chat before he saw something he couldn't un-see.
