В Турции арестован организатор выставки, на которой убили посла Карлова
Турецкие правоохранительные органы задержали и допросили Мустафу Тимура Озкана -
организатора выставки, на которой 19 декабря 2016 года был убит посол России в Турции Андрей Карлов.
Об этом сообщает турецкий телеканал NTV. Его обвинили в соучастии в умышленном убийстве, суд заключил задержанного под арест.
Убийца посла - полицейский Мевлют Мерт Алтынташ - был ликвидирован. Андрей Карлов посмертно удостоен звания Героя России.

Exhibit organizer in custody over Russian envoy's killing

Timur Özkan, organizer of the exhibition where Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov
was shot dead in December, has been taken into custody, Turkish media outlets reported yesterday.
Karlov was shot dead by an off-duty police officer on Dec. 19 in Ankara as he was delivering a speech during an exhibition at an art gallery.
A report on Turkish TV station NTV's website claimed Özkan was detained, as a suspect, on Jan. 11. Police have conducted a search of his home, confiscating his computer and some documents.
Mevlüt Mert Altıntaş, a police officer linked to the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ), shot dead the Russian envoy, who was attending a Russia-themed exhibition organized by Özkan, at a gallery in the capital's Çankaya district. Altıntaş was later killed in a shootout with police.
The incident rocked Turkey as it was trying to restore ties with Russia following a crisis over downing of a Russian jet for violating Turkish airspace. Moscow and Ankara later assured it would not harm the relations.
Meanwhile, the state-run Anadolu Agency reported six suspects were brought to a courthouse in Ankara yesterday for interrogation but did not name them. Several police officers with links to the FETÖ had been detained earlier for their links to Altıntaş while suspect's family was released after they were interrogated.
Turkish language daily, Sabah, had earlier claimed Özkan, the organizer was in close contact with fugitive FETÖ members. One of his contacts, Emre Uslu, is a prominent journalist linked to the terrorist group. He fled to the United States after prosecutors pressed terror charges against him.
The FETÖ is accused of inciting chaos in the country after their foiled coup attempt of July 15. In investigations following the murder, it once again came to spotlight and the Sabah reported that the killer, Altıntaş and his four colleagues were in preliminary intelligence reports for having links to the FETÖ, but no investigation or actions had been taken against them.

Делегация российских официальных лиц завтра посетит Анкару,
чтобы расследовать убийство посла России Андрея Карлова турецким офицером полиции,
связанным с Гюленистской террористической группой (FETÖ), сообщает газета Sabah.
Делегация будет состоять из прокурора, атташе по вопросам безопасности и судебных экспертов, которые будут встречаться с должностными лицами из Национальной полиции Турции и прокуратурой, которая ведет расследование убийства Карлова в 2016 году.
Визит идет на фоне новых арестов по делу.
На прошлой неделе полицейский, обвиняемый в «обращении» с Мевлютом Мерт Алтынташем, - офицером полиции, который убил Карлова, - от имени FETÖ, был задержан на прошлой неделе, а власти повторно арестовали Тимура Озкана,
организатора выставки, в которой Карлов участвовал, когда он был застрелен в Анкаре.
Озкан был выпущен ранее, но в газете «Сабах» появились новые свидетельства, свидетельствующие о его связи с Хайреддином Айдынбашем,
другим подозреваемым в связях с FET ..., связанным с убийством.
Карлов выступал на открытии выставки на русском языке в картинной галерее Анкары, когда он был застрелен Алтынташем. Altıntaş был убит в перестрелке с полицией внутри галереи. Убийство было во время оттепели в напряженных турецких и российских отношениях, и следствие обнаружило, что Altıntaş был связан с FET ..., обвиненным в попытке государственного переворота в Турции в прошлом году.
После убийства Анкара и Москва постепенно добились успехов в восстановлении связей, которые были сорваны к 2015 году, когда турецкие вооруженные силы сбивали российский истребитель над сирийской границей.

Russian delegation to visit Turkey over probe into envoy's murder

A delegation of Russian officials will visit Ankara tomorrow to investigate the murder of Russian Ambassador Andrei Karlov by a Turkish police officer linked to the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ), Sabah newspaper reported.
The delegation will consist of a prosecutor, a security attache and forensic experts who will meet officials from the Turkish National Police and the prosecutor's office that is conducting the investigation into 2016 killing of Karlov.The visit comes amid new arrests in the case. A police officer accused of "handling" Mevlüt Mert Altıntaş - the off-duty police officer who killed Karlov - on behalf of FETÖ was remanded in custody last week, while authorities re-arrested Timur Özkan, organizer of the exhibition Karlov was attending when he was gunned down in Ankara. Özkan was released earlier but the Sabah newspaper says new evidence showing his connection to Hayreddin Aydınbaş, another FETÖ-linked suspect tied to the murder, was revealed.
Karlov was speaking at the opening of a Russian-themed exhibition in an Ankara art gallery when he was shot dead by Altıntaş. Altıntaş was killed in a shootout with police inside the gallery. The assassination was at a time of thaw in strained Turkish and Russian relations and the investigation found that Altıntaş was linked to FETÖ, blamed for last year's coup attempt in Turkey. Since the murder, Ankara and Moscow gradually made progress in rebuilding ties that were derailed by the 2015 downing of a Russian fighter jet over the Syrian border by the Turkish military.
Investigators have learned that Altıntaş changed his cellphone number one month before the murder and borrowed a new suit from his roommate Sercan B., who is also a police officer, for "a meeting with a beloved brother," according to the roommate who was also placed under arrest for his links to Altıntaş. Prosecutors believe the person he met inside of a five-star hotel ordered the assassination.
