Баварский Географ, рукописный.
Баварским географом (также Geographus Bavarus или Ostfraenkische Voelkertafel - Восточнофранкская таблица племен) зовется, восходящий вероятно к 9 веку, перечень славянских областей, восточнее Франкского государства.
О возникновении его в науке нет единого мнения.
Ясно только, что перечень, представляющий собой главный источники по истории раннесредневековых славян, и сохранившийся лишь в одной рукописи в Баварской Государственной библиотеке в Мюнхене (Clm 560), был составлен предположительно в районе Боденского озера во второй половине 9 века.
Заглавие "Descriptio civitatum et regionum ad septentrionalem plagam Danubii" относится только к первой части перечня.

Часть 1
Описание городов и земель к северу от Дуная.
(1) Те, которые ближе всего сидят к пределам данов, зовутся нортабтричи (Nortabtrezi, ободриты); область их, в которой - 53 города, раздельно [управляется] их герцогами.
(2) Вильцы (Uuilci, лютичи), у которых 95 городов и 4 области.
(3) Линоны (Linaa) - народ, который имеет 7 городов.
(4-6) Неподалеку от них сидят те, которые зовутся бетеничи (Bethenici), смельдинги (Smeldingon) и моричане (Morizani), которые имеют 11 городов.
(7) Рядом с ними сидят те, которые зовутся гефельды (Hehfeldi, гевеллеры; гаволяне) и которые имеют 8 городов.
(8) Рядом с ними лежит область, которая зовётся Сорбы (Surbi); в области многочисленный народ, имеющий 50 городов.
(9) Рядом с ними - те, которые зовутся таламинцы (Talaminzi, долемницы; доленчане) и которые имеют 13 городов.
(10) Бегеймары (Beheimare, богемцы - чехи), у которых 15 городов.
(11) Марарии (Marharii, моравы) имеют 40 городов.
(12) Вулгарии (Uulgarii, болгары, венгры ?) - огромная область и многочисленный народ - имеют всего 5 городов, так как большинство народа проживает вне их, а следовательно не имеет надобности в городах.
(13) Есть народ, который зовётся мереханы (Merehanos); у него - 30 городов.
Это - области, которые граничат с нашими (т.е. немецкими - прим. перев.) землями.

(15) Милоксы (Miloxi), у которых 67 городов.
(16) Феснучи (Phesnuzi) имеют 70 городов.

(18) Глопяне (Glopeani), у которых 400 или чуть более городов.

A description of the cities and regions on the north side of the Danube.
These are those who reside nearer to the territories of the Greeks, whom they call Nortabtrezi, where the district in which there are 53 states was divided by their leaders.
Vuilci, in which there are 95 states and four regions.
Linaa is a people who has 7 cities.
They reside near those which they call Bethenici, and Smeldingon, and Morizani, who have eleven cities.
Next to them are those who are called Hehfeldi, who have eight states. Next to them is the district which is called Surbi. in which region there are several cities which have L. Next to them are those called Talaminzi, who have fourteen states. Bethheimare in which there are fifteen states. The Marharis have eleven states. The country of the common people is great, and having a great number of cities, because there is a great number of them, and there is no need for them to have their cities. There is a people whom they call Merehanos, they themselves have thirty cities. These are the regions which border on our borders. These are they who reside near their borders.
