Almost 2 weeks
It's been almost two weeks since I've updated, so here goes a quick review of what's been going on.
Last weekend, on Friday, I went up to Kissimmee with Carlos (Romero), a friend of Andres' and mine. We went to a soccer practice for him, then to his house so he could shower and change. Then, we went to youth group. Afterwards, I went to Andres and Caro's (his sister) apartment and we talked for a while. Then I went to bed- I slept in the living room. On Saturday, I hung out in the apartment, watching tv, doing homework, playing guitar, etc. In the afternoon, Caro came home and we talked for a while. Then, we picked Andres up and went to music practice. We went home and went to sleep. On Sunday, we woke up early. Andres made breakfast and we went to church. After church, I went with Stacie, Georgie, Charles, and Tony to Fazoli's. Will, Brittany, Frankie, and Monica showed up later. We talked for a long time, and it was really nice. We shared most embarassing moments... I don't think I could forget Stacie's standing on top of a flooded car with a tuba, screaming to be saved.... lol. Then, Charles dropped me off at the BVL soccer fields where Andres was playing soccer. We lost on the final PKs. :( We went to Andres' apartment and hung out for a while (Vivianne, Caro, Tonycito, Andres, Juan, and me) then Juan and I went to church for choir practice. I worked on research for my Physical Science paper and watched Joshua (Miriam and Alex's son). He's such a big boy now- he can walk on his own!!! Wow, I was away from Kissimmee for too long. A lot of people asked why I hadn't been there and said that they had missed me. It reaffirmed my decision to keep coming up. In the evening, we went to church, then to Denny's. It was Juan, Patria, Tony, Jany, Andres, Vivianne, Caro, and me and we met Patria's new friend Patrick. He's really nice. So, we then went home and went to sleep. On Monday morning, we dropped Caro off at work and went to school.
Most of the week, I worked on my Physical Science paper, and I finished it on Thursday evening. I went to Cheap Thrills Thursday evening (a cheap comedy show by the fraternity here). Tuesday I worked in 2B and Thursday I worked with school-agers. Thursday was my last day at work. On Friday, I turned in my paper and gave a speech in the afternoon. I talked with Miss Young in the afternoon. I helped Andres with math, then I went to a party that Dr. G threw for some of us Even Start helpers (that teach English to Spanish-speaking adults). It was a pool party, and they were very good hosts. We had salads and bread, then were served roast beef, mashed potatoes, peas, and cherry jello with apples (delicious). For dessert, we had chocolate cake. It was a great time because it was simply beautiful and just really enjoyable. They live out in the country with a yard with plants, and it was just really relaxing. Those attending were Dr. Morrow, Joel, Natalie, AJ (our AmeriCorps worker), Ryan (her fiancee), Ismael, Bashir, and me. Ismael took Bashir and I in his car. we had a really nice time altogether. I came back to college, watched my speech, and practiced piano. then I hung out with Ona and Jennie and the gang until early in the morning.
On Saturday, I went to Literacy training at work from 8:30 to 1:30, then slept when i got home. Danielle was really nice to give me a ride there and back (Thank you, God!). In the evening, we went to get Chinese food and went shopping at Wal-Mart. I came back to my room and watched Ocean's Twelve with Austin, then talked to Sarah on the phone and packed.
What I have to do this week is: Take finals on Monday and Tuesday, Have my car towed to an Auto Repair shop, try to get it fixed and figure out how I'm going to sell it, finish packing, and leave. So much to do, so little time. God, give me strength to do all of these thing, and do your will. God, please fix my car. I love you!
