Twilight movie review

Guys, hold your horses. I am going to talk about Twilight the movie. Yes, even thou I dislike the books, I went to see the movie. Because one day I am going to study Film Studies and, well, it's good to see movies. If you really like Twilight (books) and are not going to hate me for making fun of it, read ahead. If you are as protective of the books as Edward is of Bella (can't believe I used a simile like that) then stop reading. For the rest of you...here it is.

Plot: Edward is amazing. We get it. In the book you have to read it all the time and in the movie they slow motion every other scene he's in. That's where you notice those unsexy hairy eyebrows, his red weirdly shaped ears and that average amazingly handsome body/face. We also noticed he's very pale. You don't have to point it out three times in the movie by placing him in front of a very white wall.

Moving on, the first half of the movie was mostly about how Bella and Edward entered their abusive relationshipfell in love. Because you fall in love with a girl based on her scent and with a guy based on, uhm, your weird fetish for vampires I guess. Then they tried to force in an actual plot line.

So another vampire - evil of course, oh did I mention the Cullens are 'vegetarians' (drink only animals' blood) which make them the good ones - anyway - another vampire decides he wants to kill Bella for fun. Now everything happens so fast that you don't get a chance to notice anything but Edward's eyebrows. Bella ends up facing the Evil Vampire James and he's beating the crap of her when Edward comes and saves the day. Blah blah, Bella is poisoned and Eddie sucks the poison outta her.

In the hospital he tells her she should leave him and she gets a panic attack (because she likes to be abused as my poster suggests). In the end, nobody leaves nobody, everybody's happy and they go to prom.

Edward and Bella are dancing (read, staring at each other and slightly moving) when she says she wants to be like him and wants him to bite her but of course he doesn't want her to be immortal because blah blah blah. But he doesn't have a problem with making her pregnant and abuse her later in the books.

Victoria, a pretty hawt vampire wants a revenge cuz they killed off James (Evil Vampire) and it ends with her watching them dance and having an evil smile. (SEQUEL!!! :O)

Acting: I must admit, they were good. The girl playing Bella - Kristen Stewart - has potential, that's for sure. She might have played a sucky character but she acted with her eyes and that was good. Kuddos for her dying scene.
Robert Pattinson - Edward - was also good. With his looks and with all that white make up he looked a little retarded but he was believable. If he was in my school, I'd totally believe that vampire talk from him.
The rest of the Cullens were...random. It's a shame there was no character development. The blonde hardly spoke, maybe three lines in the movie. The most interesting actress from them, for me, was Ashley Greene, playing Alice. Maybe it's beacause she reminds me of Tonks, I don't know. But her acting was great - she was young, playful and calm and it soaked from the screen (so to speak).
Other were in my opinion average. Good actors but not Oscars ones.

Costumes: We were supposed to believe it was cold but Bella was constantly running around with her jacket unzipped. Oookay. I liked the costumes thou. Especially Victoria's costume was very original, very fresh, very fitting for a vampire.

Dialogues: I believe most of it was taken from the book. Because most of it was pretty bad. They tried to force deep meanings into a meaningless conversations, had a very limited vocabulary (except for Bella's " I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.") and poor connections. It really didn't sound very natural to me from time to time. Especially when Eddie talked to Bellie.

Visuals: I loved the nature. Amazing shots. Good capturing of the atmosphere in the little town. Good contrast (sometimes too much contrast thou). Brilliant camera and angles. Slow motions and flashbacks were a little annoying sometimes. But other than that, a really good shot movie.

Worth Mentioning: EDWARD SPARKLES!!! HAHAHAHA! I laughed for TEN MINUTES when he was all like "I can't go to the sun or people would see my true self." and I am like "Dude, he's gonna turn into a monstrous vampire now with wings and fangs and veins! YAY!" and then he goes into the sunlight and he frikking SPARKLES. NO KIDDING. His skin sparkled like diamonds. That's in case you missed his slow motion handsomeness before! *snort* That bit made my week. Deadly serious. I am still laughing...sparkles. Oh my. XD

Final verdict: A good movie considering the material. You don't have to read the books to enjoy the movie and if you know the books (but are not a fan) then you will laugh your head off like I did. I laughed and pointed out things and had a good time with my friend making fun of it.
