as I understand it... for now in places with only one room - a section will have to be for smoker. hmmm. not sure on the effectiveness of this one.

It is nice to come home not smelling completely rank of smoke after a night out. but I also respect peoples choices. so I'm not too sold on the complete ban that is imminent.

But I guess it all comes back to govt controls and them trying to tell everyone what they can and cant do.

They've already eating away at our human rights through bollocks anti-terrorist laws, detaining those seeking refuge from other opressive regimes and war-torn territories, making healthcare and education privelages for the wealthy and on goes the list...

Someone was saying that they've made it a compulsory thing (rather than leave establishments to decide whether they want to split non/smoking) because people are able to sue if they get lung cancer from working at bars etc.

I guess the same uproar happened when people had to stop smoking in cinemas. And the days where you were able to have a fag at your office desk!

When I was at a train ticket office in Italy (or Greece or Turkey, i cannae remember), the actually waiting area was non-smoking but everyone behind the glass shield (like bank tellers) were all sitting there smoking while they filled out your ticket! You can smoke in supermarkets in some parts of Spain!

I guess not smoking in supermarkets, on aeroplanes (gross), at school, in the office etc is defo a good thing... but for many people a social smoko is synonymous with a social bevvie... but maybe I am talking myself in circles here.

I dont like breathing second hand smoke, but at the same time as I have a right not to, smokers should have a bit of a right to have a smoke somewhere.

Otherwise, where do you draw the line - do you ban ALL smoking everywhere ever except in your own backyard? (but not near the fence otherwise someone else might breathe it in)?
