Chinezo lesson #2 - Use By Dates

Jul 06, 2007 08:37

I went to Ashfield last night to grab another free feed as my sister was over to cook dinner for my Dad. Afterwards we were cleaning up and Glenda decided to start throwing stuff out from the kitchen before Mum got back (this morning). Thats always the trick because she's such a hoarder. Like, I found cucumbers in a bag in the vegetable drawer that had this white mucus all over it.

My sister is picking stuff up off the bench top and goes "I'm definately throwing this mayo out.. who knows how long its been here for"

I turned around from my dishwashing and asked "Euw, Praise... Whats the use-by date?"

She turned it around and the use-by date had been ripped off!
Thats so typical of my Mum. She'd realise that the first thing we'd do was look at the date and she probably thought if there wasn't one, we'd be more inclined to eat it!

We raffed so much.

mum, food, use by dates
