The Return of the Weekend Roundup

Friday night started off nicely with a rockstar carpark outside of The Civic.. and I joined in at Lyndall's birthday drinks which turned out to be a mini old-school reunion! Tash + I left for a late dinner over at Tropicana, which was totally hitting the spot, although I wish I hadn't eaten such a big office Friday lunch at Forrester's! It was still relatively early in the evening, so we took a calculated walk over down Kellett St. (reminder to possibly try that Czech restaurant) and popped into Tonic to say hi to Huw before he started DJing and have a girly yarn and laugh at how amazingly clear conversation in a club can be with some strategically placed cupped hands. We left there about 11pm and walked past a "gentleman's club" where we saw a girl running around in a towel through the doorway!

On Saturday, THE milkbar_nick was visiting Sydney so I conned him to come pick me up from Park St. after I'd finished work.. thinking that I'd have a couple of hours with him before he drove back to Canberra. Upon hopping into the ever-charming Vernon Wagner, I was told that I'd have the pleasure of his company all night! So we made a quick stop at Newtown before coming back to my haus to hang out and watch Ghostbusters.

7pm rolled around and I realised that the cramping pain in my stomach was hunger as I hadn't eaten since breakfast. So I got changed (because Nick had to stay in his stinky clothes - ha ha) and we headed back towards Newtown for some pasta. No lasgana (sic)! No chicken mushroom! Yes Nicoise!

We headed into the city and our first stop was to check out Tank. Lotsa bright lights and huge shiny discoballs (doo doo dododod). Very young crowd. Lots of boys. We waited until each section was slowly opened and then quickly checked the backroom (where Nick will be playing in a couple of weeks) and made a bee-line back to Laundry. The Laundry room was PACKED. All these random Canberra people and select kewl RA kids etc, were all huddled in the group next to the booth.. it was like walking into a party where everyone knows you.

DJ Dan rocked. So much. I just wish I wasn't still dealing with stomach cramps all night! Serves me right for not eating.. so to make up for it, the past 2 days I have been non stop munching on whatever.. namely chocolates and sweets that I picked up from SugarFix - again! I think the guy who works there thinks he knows me.. even though I've only been in there twice. He might have me confused with another asian. (Ps. They sell Hula Hoops AND Monster Munch! YUM. How I miss english junkfood).

Nick was still sleeping when I had to go to work on Sunday.
And when I came home.. he was gone.
Like the wind.
