I had 6 bananas sitting on my desk today and all day people would walk past and say "stocking up huh?" and walk off... I had no idea what they were on about. Once I found out i was like "No, I just like bananas, OK???"
Thats too funny! I took one today to work and i kinda didnt want to eat it.. but over the course of the day it started to turn brown and I was scared that fruit flies might infest my office.
Where would they import from? Fiji? Thailand? I s'pose paying $1 a banana might not be so bad.. its the same as if you'd bought from the school canteen. But does that mean that banana products, like smoothies, are going to go up too? The banana bread at cafes is already exorbitant!
Yeah! Like, if we were buing heaps of them ourselves we would feel the price increase. But as I only buy a few every so often, I can afford to spend a little bit more (its not like I even look at the price when I buy bananas anyway.) Unlike petrol, if I were buying that it would be on a regular basis and would complain about a 10 cent increase in price.
I dunno where they would import them from? where else do they grow nanas? America??
From le Google.. Though there are many countries where bananas are grown, not all grow them for export. Brazil, China, India, and Thailand grow them as a local food source and export very few. The major exporters include Ecuador, Costa Rica, Colombia, Honduras, the Philippines, Panama, and Guatemala.
Oh.. and haha was with rhyming. It doesnt work for me if you have to say pie-RATE.
Will it be cheaper to just import them?
