went to NYC with mom this last weekend. got to see miss Becca, who I had not seen in two whole years !! (since our UHA reunion, which we are possibly planning to have another one of this summer at Tammi's new house...wow, my friends are buying houses, what's up with that, am I old now or something?)
Friday - got in early, after just dropping our bags off at the hotel we headed out to Canal Street to do a little shopping and eating (got a beautiful black leather briefcase and some yummy gelato, among other things). We got back with just enough time to get ready for Becca's arrival. Me and her caught up while drinking wine in the SUITE we had gotten for such a good deal (literally bigger than my apt, J's could fit in the living room. One bedroom, one and a half baths, huge living room, lots of closets, and a whole kitchen with fridge, microwave, and oven/stove). The three of us went up to the top floor for their bar and more drinking, before Becca had to leave us and we had to go to a Greek restaurant down the street (tasty).
Saturday - more shopping down at Canal. I was on a mission to find J a tie and get him/us some chocolate covered cannoli (speaking of which, I wonder if we have some left in his fridge...must investigate this further tonight...). Both missions were successful, so we headed up to Times Square next to have lunch (I went for the huge "15 bite" hot dog with o-strings. It was ENORMOUS and I couldn't even eat half of it, but it was still tasty (followed it up with a vanilla milkshake...I'm sure you're wondering how much weight I gained this trip but in my defense, there was a lot of walking, so it all evened out). We also checkout the Gap in Times Square (we went to the one on 5th Ave on Friday). Then we went to Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum! It was really fantastical. Took pictures with lots of celebrities and dignitaries (some of which will eventually make it up on FB).I got a $10 manicure on the way home, which was great except for the fact that I was falling asleep at the table. Unfortunately, we did not make it out to Spark's for dinner (mmm steak!) cause my little brother was involved in a skiing accident :( Don't worry, he's okay! But we were worried...he had to go to the hospital, etc. so we hung around and ate leftovers and watched tv. It was fine though, cause I was really exhausted and we wanted to be able to hear whenever they called to update us.
so that was the weekend. if we are FB friends, check out pics soon (maybe updated tomorrow or Sunday)
