It had become habit for him to stay over at her place, a feat that her brothers would probably find an easy target for their rage of his mild existence. It was different, and while the whole idea of their budding relationship was still taking some getting used to, it had become comfortable.

He felt the rise off the bed, and the cold draft that followed as he sunk deeper into the pillow for the loss of warmth. He could sleep about anywhere, and if it were free probably a coffee table if he was tired enough. The new job while simple and pretty easy to manage, it had added an extra spot in his schedule therefore wearing him out quicker than usual (if that was possible).

Her hand graced his face, plucking his hair away from his eyes, and he could feel the light start to shed beyond those closed eyelids. A soft and simple grunt escaped his throat as he continued to try and get a few more moments of shut eye uninterrupted. He could feel Temari's gaze however which left those silent moments far from reality. She always had something to say, and this early in the morning he was quite certain she had plenty on her mind. What though? He hadn't figured out yet.

Temari idly wondered if she would've stayed in bed longer if it was winter, but seeing that she had the air conditioner on since last night, it already felt like winter and all she wanted to do with crawl into bed again. Shikamaru always made it look so easy to waste time sleeping, even if she could feel him moving underneath the covers, signaling that he was aware of her being there. This new knowledge made her lips stretch wider as she leaned down, pressing her smile into his cheek.

"Don't you have work today?" she delicately asked, truly fighting against the urge to just lie next to him like this for a couple of more minutes until the both of them felt like meeting the ugly world face to face.

He wasn't a morning person, nor was he a night owl. If sleep could be classified as a job, he'd do it as often as possible. There were twenty four hours in a day, and Shikmaru could easily spend nineteen of them passed out in a puddle of drool. He grunted again lightly, the sound coming out like a slight whine as he realized he wasn't going to get anymore sleep now. He was already awake, even if mildly.

"Night shift," he said in a lazy voice wanting her warmth to rejoin him in it's rightful place. He shuffled underneath the sheets, unwrapping himself from their tangle and scooted closer to where she sat on the edge of the bed, fingers grazing the skin of her outer thigh.

His fingers and the warmth of his body radiating from the covers were, once again, tempting her to just forget about work and the warm coffee that she could already smell from the coffee maker in the kitchen. The automatic timing on the little machine was quite handy for waking her up, but not when she had Shikamaru in such a content state that even Temari couldn't ruin.

She finally gave in, but not before promising herself that in five more minutes, she would definitely get up this time. His laziness was just too damn infectious to do anything about it.

Temari swung her legs onto the bed and laid down on the space between the edge of the bed and Shikamaru, her body trying as best as it can to steal some of the warmth through the covers. Her face took on something between thoughtful and strangely peaceful as she watched his face, switching between being conscious and not.

"Night shift? What am I going to do around here without you to keep me company?"

His arm reached out to lay around her waist, face nuzzling against her soft skin. Eyes still closed, as he refused to open them hoping that there could be at least ten more minutes of comfortable bed time. That was until her thoughts consumed her again.

This was the time that Shikamaru's mother would drag him out of bed, always spouting that a growing boy such as himself should be doing more active things. It wasn't normal she thought, and often asked his father if he should go for therapy. They had believed in time he'd grow out of it. Obviously it had never been the case, and Shikamaru always needed a swift kick in the morning to get him up and running.

"Guess you'll have to find someone else to take my place," he said with sarcasm laced in that lazy drawl.

She allowed him to take her further into the bed, having absolutely no protests against being this close to him. Heaven knows how many times they actually had the time to enjoy moments like these, but even so, Temari wasn't about to let his remark go unanswered. Taking advantage of his temporarily lost sight at the moment, Temari rolled her eyes, showing her own thoughts about a bout in sarcasm this early in the morning.

"Night at the bar sounds good," she murmured against his chest, an area that she discovered gave off the most warmth. "Pick up a random stranger, someone that's not so awkwardly tall or short. Dance with them and see if they can dance. If things turn out to be good and solid, I might even take them home." Her hand slid against his chest until it met his chin, in which Temari took a firm hold of and tugged it down, wanting him to look at her.

"What do you think of my plan? Think that might save me from boredom while my boyfriend goes to work."

Shikamaru smiled lightly as her hands roamed over until her mouth opened and then that smile turned sour. He leaned up on his elbows, giving her a groggy stare. Silence passed between them momentarily as if the look was enough to penetrate his thoughts.

"I think that sounds like a ridiculous idea." He was ready to dish out the sarcasm but it was too early for him to have it thrown back in his face. Not when he had been enjoying the moment so casually.

He grunted in response, one arm still snaked around her waist as he tugged her closer. Leaning in he licked his lips lightly giving her a most soft kiss, a temptation of sorts before rolling back over.

"You don't take strangers home, it's dangerous," he said in a nasal tone.

The look he gave her with his eyes barely open was enough to make her laugh, her smile stretching even wider with the brief closeness of their bodies and the chaste kiss on her lips. It left her wanting more and so she followed as he moved away, straddling his lower body so he couldn't escape that easily from her.

Blonde hair fell from her poorly made ponytail as she reached down, pressing her upper body against his chest, pressing a similar kiss back on the corner of his mouth.

"I took you home when I hardly knew you. I don't see you pulling out an ax on me. Yet." The last word was punctuated with a hard nip to his ear before she sat up again, enjoying Shikamaru's own lazy and ruffled state from being awakened by her.

Shikamaru's escape was cut short at her movements, finding himself pinned under her body, and his tired body was too lazy to make much more effort to move. Her chest pressed against his, immobilizing him further and he grunted in irritation. Long, slender finger rolled lightly against her back, pushing the fabric of the shirt up to feel the warmth of her skin against his own.

"That's what you think," he said in a deep and sarcastic voice, avoiding that the playful remark of hers made him the tiniest bit jealous. He'd never admit to that for the sheer fact that she'd poke fun and gloat at knowing it. "It's always the quiet ones," his voice far from playful and still on that groggy and bored tone, regardless of his moving fingers against her skin that agreed to her physical contact.

"You're going to need a hell lot of luck to ax me then," she chuckled, skimming her hands along his arm to catch his fingers, denying him the simple act of touching, something she always loved to do just so she could rile him up until his patience broke. But it was early in the morning, and all she wanted to do was to feel his fingers interlaced with hers, some sort of connection. The sharp electronic chirp from the coffee machines woke her up from her slight daze, making Temari look back at digital clock on the end table, wincing at how much time she had spent in bed when she could've been getting ready for work.

Sighing, Temari released her hold on Shikamaru before rolling over and off the bed, her legs immediately going cold from the lack of warmth from his body. "If you get yourself in the kitchen before I leave, I can promise you breakfast and coffee." With great reluctance, Temari stripped out of Shikamaru's own comfy shirt and looked through the closet for a casual pair of jeans and a ragged t-shirt.

"Besides, I have something to ask you," she added nonchalantly before disappearing into the bathroom.

That warmth was sucked away the moment she hopped off the bed and away. A pout formed on his lips in reaction, not getting much satisfaction with the cold air she left him with. "Whatever happened to calling in sick?" he said in a groogy whine once he sat up to retrieve his shirt and place it on his body, only to fall back down on the bed face down.

It wasn't the talk of breakfast that had caused him to twitch and raise a brow in confusion. Granted he'd much rather spend time in bed than eating on most days, but the words that followed were enough to make any man's ears perk, especially when said so casually.

Sitting up again Shikamaru glared at the bathroom before getting up to find the rest of his clothes and struggle to get them on while still in that sleepy stage.

Once dressed he followed to the bathroom, curiosity getting the best of him and he stood looking at her with a raised brow, mind going in millions of directions as to where that comment could lead.

She didn't even have to raise her head from the sink to know that Shikamaru was already behind her, waiting for that question. Truthfully, she didn't even know if this would be a good time to ask, so out of the blue and without any warning. But this was her, when she made a decision, it stuck and followed through. Even so, after splashing her face with cold water and wiping it with the front of her shirt, leaving her face still mildly wet, she found herself being hesitant in saying anything.

"When are you going back to school?" she asked first, turning around to face him as her back leaned against the sink, her arms crossed in front of her chest, strangely protective at the moment. Maybe even a little bit unsure.

That brow raised a hare higher, even more confused than before. "Is that your question?" he asked in return, bypassing her answer for the time being. What the hell was going on inside of that head of hers? It was entirely too early to be throwing him with random shit. Slanted eyes glared at her momentarily as if it was going to give him the golden answer to women and their complete ridiculousness.

He then remembered what his father said once, and with women there was always a higher purpose. There was a reason behind this, and at the way she was standing, a bit unsure, a bit defensive, and could he say worried? With a yawn he scratched the back of his head, that long hair slightly scraggly from the night before and the comfortable pillow he had been attached to just moments earlier.

"A few weeks."

The deep look he gave her didn't help much, only irritating Temari a bit, especially since it passed off as being impatient to her. And needless to say, Temari wasn't the type that needed to be rushed on these types of things. Even so she glared back at an even level, as if this was Shikamaru's fault in the first place. Usually, she wouldn't even be asking these questions if it wasn't for the fact that she fell for a guy that still lived in college dorms.

At the moment, she strongly disliked the fact that Shikamaru was basically carefree of troubling thoughts and all that he wanted and looked forward to was sleep. Lucky bastard.

"No, that's not my question. Just wanted to know if you'd rather spend more time with me than with books and annoying roommates." Her green eyes briefly matched his darker colored ones for a second before Temari moved out of the room again, away from the direct line of fire. Now, she definitely needed the coffee.

She walked away in a huff leaving Shikamaru in a daze. What the hell was that, he thought holding his hands out in a questioning fashion. Groaning he trucked off after her towards the kitchen, shuffling his feet lazily on the cold floor.

He stared at the back of her head for a long time as she shuffled around the kitchen. "Could you not be so complicated this early in the morning?" He asked, wondering how this was his fault, and he could tell by her tone she was irritated. Trying to rotate his brain to understand what she had just thrown at him minutes earlier he then said confused, "Are you asking me to move in?"

Green eyes watched the black liquid pour from the glass pitcher and into a cup as Temari created her caffeine fix for the morning. She poured the coffee into another cup, just in case Shikamaru wanted it. Taking up her cup, she liked her coffee black, she returned back to the part of the counter where she could see him.

"That's the jist of it, yeah," she nodded slowly, taking a sip of her coffee as she watched him take in this question. The beauty of it was that she didn't even have to voice it herself, but then again, she only wished that he could jump to conclusions (the right ones) this fast on other topics.
