Shikamaru's indifference to his girlfriend was still showing through in his attempt to keep himself busy, which was out of his ordinary habits. He wasn't one to busy himself with school work, so the only thing he could use to take up his time was work and actually attending class. Temari may have surfaced once again, but he couldn't put a band-aid on that burn she'd given just before leaving without so much as a word. He felt like his heart was on a rollar coaster with the many times she'd punched him in the gut with her rather ridiculous mood shifts and disappearing acts.
Being the unfriendly person he was, it seemed that the little 'good' girl of Kankuro's had started to open up more when he'd run into her on campus. Momo was usually the one with the drastic and compelling stories, and now Shikamaru was the one left standing trying to figure out a Sabaku. He hadn't done a lot of talking, but he had done more with her than he had with his own girlfriend in the last few weeks.
Walking in the door of their apartment, Shikamaru had just come home from a long-shift of guard duty at the mall. He wasn't in the mood for talking or anything but face planting himself to the bed.
