Izuru led Winry into the kitchen and paused by the counter at her statement. Oh. Right. Winry had never been to his house and he was used to the variety of reactions he got when someone visited for the first time, but it somehow caught him off guard and he flushed darkly. When he moved again, he opened the refrigerator and looked inside. He needed to go grocery shopping. It was just one more thing he often neglected to do for himself that he really needed to get into the habit of doing. Still, there was some juice, a few bottles of water left over from a visit from one of his aunts, tea, and... he checked the cabinet, rattling off the things he could offer before turning to her with a half smile. "And coffee, if you really want."

Waiting for her to tell him what she wanted, he leaned back against the counter and hoped the blush on his face had faded some. He hadn't meant to brush off the question, just to postpone it a moment so he could collect himself. "I... ah, I inherited my parents' and grandparents' estates when my grandfather died. I lived on campus last year, and just decided to stay at home this year. It's much easier to study in the quiet than in the dorms," he explained quietly. He really didn't draw attention to the fact that he was the sole heir of several impressive fortunes, and had no intention of doing so. It wouldn't help him with his studies, except that it paid his bills and saw that he was able to pursue his dreams. That was all there was to it.

Winry stopped near the entrance to the kitchen. A tiny smile formed on her lips as he rambled off a list of options. Her brow quirked at the slight color on his face before finally saying, "Um, juice would be fine." She wasn't a fan of tea or coffee, the caffeine made her more energetic and crazy than she usually was, and water was too boring. Walking a little farther into the kitchen, she took off her jacket leaving her in jeans and a lacy tank top that didn't exactly say 'I'm going to be working on a car'. She planned on going shopping the following weekend, so she didn't see why she shouldn't be working in something like that.

Nodding slowly, she watched him curiously. Estates, huh? He seemed uncomfortable explaining it, but she didn't really understand why he did. It wasn't anything he could change, so he just had to live with the fact that there were bound to be people who were only interested in how much money he had. She could relate in a way. Her parents had left her a nice sum of money in their will, nothing at all anywhere near what Izuru had inherited, but it was still some kind of connection. "Can't say I inheritied estates, but I know that the second I can touch the money my parents left me I'm going the same route as you and getting out of the dorms. Trying to study for test and write papers with a roommate who I'm surprised hasn't flunked out yet is not at all easy."
