I'm a Friend of the Irresponsible Fools Who Don't Have Time For Rules

What: Work in Aizen's Office. Aizen is short-handed and needs L (usually given less responsibilities but good with numbers) to fill in for one of his staff accountants.
Who: Aizen and L
When: December 6, afternoon
Where: Aizen's office
Rating: PG?
Open/Closed To: L, Aizen

Ever since taking the outreach job that Aizen's office had provided for a "politically fascinated" member of Autism Talks, L had felt often weary, fractious, and like breaking things. Even though no one expected very much of him, he found himself feeling like an errant child when he inevitably made mistakes. It had been years since he'd allowed himself to be in any occupation but "highly competent world's greatest anonymous computer detective", and lately he was being reminded why. Every day, his face was on full display to everyone he spoke with, his ungainly posture and inability to make lasting eye contact painfully obvious handicaps in the working world.

It wasn't that L did a poor job, with what he was given. If he was asked to stamp envelopes, he would do so tirelessly until someone told him to stop. It was transitions that frustrated him. For instance, if he had been stamping envelopes for an hour and he was interrupted to get coffee for Aizen or another high-ranking associate, he tended to get flustered. Today, his routine had been interrupted with something much bigger, however. It seemed that Aizen was short a staff accountant, and he had no one else to spare. Since L was decent with numbers, he'd been called to fill that position.

He knocked on the door to Aizen's office, waiting as patiently as he could to be let or invited in by the politician.

l, aizen
